Then, carefully remove the battery from its socket by lifting it up on the side closest to the key-ring loop. Make sure you wear rubber gloves to protect the clips or electronic contact surfaces.
Place the new battery into the socket after the older one is removed. Make sure that the positive side of the battery is facing upwards, and the clips are all seated. Then slide the cover back towards the key-ring loop until it becomes loose and slides off. Then, you can remove the cover to reveal the mechanical key blade, which is hidden inside. This will be used to unlock your car from the driver's side door in the event that the key fob battery is dead or missing.
