5. Jesus in Dacia

5. Jesus in Dacia

Bogdan Georgievich Lisitsa

After Germany, Jesus Christ arrived in Dacia. Jordanes writes that after Burebista, power passed to Deceneus, and then to Komozikos. The historian goes on to say that:

"After this one too had retired from human affairs, King Cirill reigned over the Goths, and he ruled over his tribe in Dacia for forty years."

— Jordan. Getica.

The name Cirill is a variation of the name Karl, which in turn is a variation of the Celtic name for God "Cernunnos", Lamb, another name for Jesus Christ. Cirill-Jesus transferred power to his son Koson.

The variants of the name Koson / Kosini / Kotizon that have come down to us are a name distorted over time, which in the original sounded approximately [Jesus's Son].

Koson – Soson – Jesus Son

Sources call Cotizon (Cotiso), who reigned in Dacia at the beginning of the first century. In one of the odes of Horace, it is said that "the army of the Dac Kotison was defeated." The writings of Suetonius mention Cosoni (Cosini) Getarum regi. In the vicinity of Sarmizegetusa, the capital of the Dacian kingdom, numerous treasures of gold coins were found with the inscription "Koson" in Greek letters.

Cotyson is mentioned as an adversary of Rome in the context of the events of 11-12 AD. His power extended to the mountainous part of Dacia, where the capital Sarmizegetusa was located. Koson-Kotizon ruled for a very long time, which corresponds to the data of Jordanes. Perhaps Jordan meant that [Koson, the son of] Cirill, ruled for forty years.

Since most of the first half of the 1st century AD. and the first decades of the second half of this century were calm, without major clashes between the Dacians and the Romans, the ancient authors no longer mention the Dacian kings. The economy of Dacia developed strongly due to trade exchange with the Roman Empire. In the time of Nero, King Skorilon is mentioned, the dates of his life are unknown. Then the throne was inherited by his brother Duras, who attacked Moesia in the winter of 85/86. After that, according to Cassius Dio, "Duras, who ruled earlier, voluntarily transferred power to Decebalus, since he was a skilled commander..."

Thracian Horseman

The Thracian Horseman is Jesus Christ, the central person of the cult widespread in ancient Thrace. Known from sculptures and inscriptions dating back to the period of the 1st century AD at the beginning 4th century AD. The cult was most widespread in Thrace and Moesia Inferior in the 2nd-3rd centuries.

The hero is what he is called in Greek and Roman inscriptions. Often his name is written hērōs or heros, less often hērōn, heron, eron. Eron is a variation of the Greek Arni / Lamb, aka Cernunnos, one of the names of Jesus Christ. Thus, the Lamb is the Hero in the ideas of the ancient Thracians.

Heros from Philippi

When describing the Thracian Horseman, epithets such as sōtēr ("savior") and iatros ("healer") were used, which were also used regarding Jesus Christ. In the region of present-day Varna, He was known as Darzalas and was described as μέγας θεός ("great god").

The surviving reliefs and figurines belonged to the funeral cult or to the rituals of giving a vow. The rider is usually depicted galloping from left to right towards a tree entwined with a serpent. The cult of the Thracian Horseman was associated with the idea of life after death and healing, which also points to Him as Jesus Christ. Its adherents were people of various social status and ethnic origin. Over time, the cult of the Thracian Horseman was transformed into the veneration of St. George, and the iconography characteristic of him continued to be used in the depiction of St. George slaying the dragon.

Khors-Dazhdbog

Khors – God of the ancient Slavs, associated with the sun. The word Khors is the first part of the word "Christ".

According to the Tale of Bygone Years (year 980), Prince Vladimir Svyatoslavich placed idols on a hill outside the Teremnago courtyard: Perun and Khors Dazhdbog, and Stribog, and Simargl, and Mokosh.

The name Dazhdbog in this list is mentioned together with the name Khors and is not separated from it by a union, unlike other names - this indicates that Khors and Dazhdbog are one and the same person. This confirms the fact that in the Synopsis Khors is not mentioned among the gods honored by Vladimir.

The name Dazhdbog is a variation of the name Bar-David (Son of David), one of the names of Jesus Christ.

Horus is Ra, the god of the sun, which is spelled RH, in the opposite direction.

Khors-Dazhdbog is also compared to a rider on a horse. The Tale of Igor's Campaign says that at night the horseman Vseslav Bryachislavich “rushes quickly like a wolf. During the night, until the roosters crow, he will drive from Kiev to Tmutarakan. He rushes faster than the great Khors. In this ancient text, the rider Vseslav Bryachislavich is compared with the rider the sun. In other words, the Lamb Son of David is the Rider.
