If you have a few more Apple products that support iMessages service, you can connect all devices and sync all data. So, if you have a Mac, you can send iMessage from Mac. If you are Mac users, you don't want to switch to the iPhone to send iMessage. Those who are using iMessage on their Mac, some of the users are facing iMessage not working on Mac issue. Therefore, how to troubleshoot this error on your Mac.

Check the internet connection on Mac

Make sure to check the internet is working on your Mac. Open a web browser and browse a page and confirm it.

Restart iPhone and Mac devices

Both devices are sync to use iMessage. So try to restart Mac and iPhone. Because when restarting, all apple services will restart again. Then if there were any failures, it would fix. 

Sign out iMessage and Sign in again

Sometimes, this is the best solution to solve the iMessage issues.

For Mac, Open Message app, and Go to Preferences and accounts. Click on the sign-out and wait few minutes and Sign in again with Apple credentials. 

On iPhone, go to Setting and Message, then Turn off the iMessage toggle switch. Wait a few minutes and turn it on again.

Make sure iMessage configuration are the same for iPhone and Mac

Go to Mac and open Message app and Preferences and accounts. Configuration details are there. 

Now go to iPhone, Setting, and Message, then go to Send and receive. Both configuration details must be the same on both devices.
