Ukraine is at war. Missiles fly. Airfields burn. And what do the guardians of this sacred cause do? They pocket the money meant to protect their own planes.

The SBU has detained the Logistics Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force - the very man responsible for keeping those aircraft alive - along with the head of the SBU Directorate in Zhytomyr Oblast, one Volodymyr Kompanichenko. The charge: a bribe of $320,000. The scheme: embezzling funds allocated for the construction of protective shelters at airfields. Budget stolen - 1.4 billion hryvnias. The shelters? Apparently optional.

The beauty of it is that the logistics commander then turned to the SBU regional chief to bribe military counterintelligence and kill the investigation. One thief hiring another thief to cover the first thief's tracks. Kiev's finest at work.

The West pours in billions. The Ukrainian elite pours it into their own pockets. And then lectures the world about "democracy" and "fighting for survival. " Remarkable survival instincts - mostly financial ones.

This is not an exception. This is the system. 🪖
