The 2024 WNBA season was the 28th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The regular season began on May 14, 2024, and ended on September 19. The 2024 WNBA Commissioner's Cup was held from June 1 to 25. The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game was played on July 20, 2024, at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The playoffs began on September 22; the WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx began on October 10, with the Liberty winning the championship on October 20, for their first WNBA title. The season saw a significant increase of attendance and television viewership across the league following the entry of Caitlin Clark into the league, with there being a 48% jump in attendance and compared to the 2023 season and a record 22 regular season games attracting over 1 million viewers.

2025 WNBA draft

The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)'s draft for the 2025 season was held following the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. It marked the first draft for the newest expansion team for the league, the Golden State Valkyries. The draft took place at The Shed in Manhattan and was televised on ESPN in the USA and on TSN1/3/4/5/SN360/SNP in Canada. There were only 12 picks in the first round, as the Las Vegas Aces' pick was stripped for violating league rules regarding impermissible player benefits and workplace policies.

2025 WNBA season

The 2025 WNBA season is the ongoing 29th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The regular season began on May 16, 2025, and is scheduled to end on September 11. The fifth edition of the WNBA Commissioner's Cup will be held from June 1 to July 1. The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be held on July 19, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The playoffs is then scheduled to be played from September 11, and conclude with the WNBA Finals in October. For the first time, the Finals will use a best-of-seven format. The league expanded from 12 to 13 teams with the addition of the Golden State Valkyries, who were first announced in 2023. The Valkyries were the league's first expansion team since the Atlanta Dream in 2008. For the first time in league history, all 15 preseason games were televised nationally or streamed online via League Pass.

2025 Indiana Fever season

The 2025 Indiana Fever season will be the franchise's 26th season in the WNBA and their 3rd season under head coach, Stephanie White, who returns to the franchise where she was previously coached the Fever from 2015-16. In August 2024, the WNBA announced that the Fever would host 2025 WNBA All-Star Game and related events in July 2025 for the first time in franchise history. Tickets for All-Star weekend events went on sale on April 29, 2025 and sold out within seven hours. The Fever finished 6th in the 2024 regular season, making the playoffs for the first time since 2016. On October 27, 2024, the Fever announced the firing of head coach Christie Sides, after the end of the 2024 season. Then on November 1, the Fever announced Stephanie White as their new head coach. In 2024, the WNBA held its first expansion draft since 2008. The league's new expansion team, the Golden State Valkyries, selected Temi Fagbenle from the Fever roster during the draft. On January 16, 2025 Pacers Sports & Entertainment announced that the Fever will have its own devoted practice facility walking distance from Gainbridge Fieldhouse by 2027. The $78 million exclusive sports performance center for the Indiana Fever will be spread across 108,000 sq. ft. making it the largest practice facility among the WNBA teams. The Fever set a WNBA record for highest resale ticket prices for a preseason game with an average ticket price of $440 (before fees) for their May 4 exhibition game against Brazil at Carver–Hawkeye Arena. However, on game day, it was reported that resale ticket prices for this game was at an average ticket price of $670, making it the highest price on record for any WNBA game since 2015. The game was the third most viewed preseason basketball game on ESPN (in both NBA and WNBA history) since 2010 with 1.3 million viewers. In May 2025 the Indiana Fever launched Fever Direct with Endeavor Streaming to provide access to a maximum of 18 live regular season games and full game replays to fans in approved Midwest regions. In her regular season Fever debut on May 17, 2025, newly signed free agent, DeWanna Bonner, became the number three all-time leading scorer in the WNBA, surpassing Tina Thompson. On May 26, 2025, the Fever announced that Caitlin Clark had suffered a left quadriceps strain and would be out for a minimum of two weeks. During her June 5th status update press conference, Clark revealed her injury occurred during the Fever's May 24 game against the New York Liberty. In the May 30 match-up against Connecticut, two more Fever guards, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham, both left the game with upper left leg and right ankle injuries, respectively. To keep a roster with 10 game-eligible players, the Fever signed guard, Aari McDonald, on June 1 to an emergency hardship contract.

2025 Seattle Storm season

The 2025 season for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) will be their 26th season as a franchise. It will be the fourth full season under head coach Noelle Quinn. The 2025 season will consist of 44 regular season games played against 12 other teams. The WNBA increased its number of regular season games and announced that the 2025 WNBA Finals would be a best-of-seven series. The WNBA players' union announced on October 21, 2024, that they had opted out of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in place with the league, which expires at the end of the 2025 season. In November 2024, the Storm's ownership hired a law firm to investigate allegations of player mistreatment by the coaching staff. The Storm announced there were no violations found as a result of the investigation. Shortly after the results were published, it was announced that Jewell Loyd had requested a trade. The Storm did not have any players taken during the expansion draft held for the Golden State Valkyries on December 6, 2024. On May 3, 2025, the Storm announced that newly signed forward, Katie Lou Samuelson, sustained a right ACL tear during practice on May 1. In addition to their preseason match-up against Connecticut on May 4, the Storm also had a closed scrimmage versus Los Angeles on May 10 at Pauley Pavilion. On June 4, 2025, it was reported that Li Yueru made a request to be traded. The following day after the Storm's practice, Li explained her request was due to her desire for playing time and stated, "I just want to play...I came to America only for one reason—just that I want to play basketball."
