Louisville Cardinals men's basketballThe Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team is the men's college basketball program representing the University of Louisville (U of L) in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) of NCAA Division I. The Cardinals have officially won two NCAA championships in 1980 and 1986 (with the 2013 title being vacated); and have officially been to eight Final Fours (with the 2012 and 2013 appearances being vacated) in 39 official NCAA tournament appearances while compiling 61 tournament wins.

Louisville Cardinals baseballThe Louisville Cardinals baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of the University of Louisville, located in Louisville, Kentucky. The program was a member of the NCAA Division I American Athletic Conference for the 2014 season and joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in July 2014. The Cardinals have played at Jim Patterson Stadium since the venue opened during the 2005 season. Dan McDonnell has been the program's head coach since the start of the 2007 season. As of the end of the 2025 season, the program has appeared in 15 NCAA tournaments and six College World Series. In conference postseason play, it has won two Big East Conference baseball tournaments. In regular season play, it has won two Metro Conference titles, four Big East Conference titles, one American Athletic Conference title, and four Atlantic Coast Conference titles. Louisville also set the ACC record for most conference wins in a season with 25 during the 2015 season. As of July 20, 2019, 19 former Cardinals have appeared in Major League Baseball. Seven former Cardinals have appeared in MLB games during the 2019 season: Nick Burdi, Adam Engel, Chad Green, Matt Koch, Brendan McKay, Josh Rogers, Will Smith, and Nick Solak

2016 Louisville Cardinals football teamThe 2016 Louisville Cardinals football team represented the University of Louisville in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cardinals were led by then third-year head coach Bobby Petrino, who began his second stint at Louisville in 2014 after eight years away. The team played their home games at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. The Cardinals competed as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cardinals were led by sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was responsible for 51 touchdowns on the year (30 passing and 21 rushing), which was second in FBS. He was awarded the Heisman Trophy, distinguishing him as the nation's best college football player, becoming the first Louisville player to win the award.
