2023 Lexus EV Cars More Efficient

Pure electric cars come with various battery capacities. Of course this battery capacity will determine how far the car can go. So, what about the Lexus UX 300e?

As a pure electric car, Lexus provides the UX 300e with a 54.3 kWh battery capacity. In its class, the battery carried by this compact SUV is among the largest.

Looking at the competition map, the BMW i3s carries a battery capacity of 42.2 kWh. Meanwhile, the electric car duo from South Korea, the Hyundai Kona EV and the Ioniq EV, have a battery capacity of 39.2 kWh and 38.8 kWh.

Lexus claims the UX 300e's 54.3 kWh battery can run as far as 300 km. However, in our tests, the instrument cluster display shows the distance information is only 275 km when the battery is full and the AC is on. If the AC is off, the mileage immediately changes to 300 km.

Now! Talking about the battery, of course we have to open up the battery consumption data. In daily driving conditions where there are many stops and an average of 20 km/hour, the UX 300e records electricity consumption at 7.8 km/kWh. As for the consumption of toll routes, which are more constant, they are even more wasteful, namely at 6.5 km/kWh.

If we calculate it to rupiah by taking the cost of 1 kWh of household electricity is $0.1, then in a 100 km trip it only costs around $14. very thrifty isn't it? Moreover, considering that electric cars do not need an oil change and the annual tax is very cheap. However, of course there is a large amount of capital that we need at the beginning when buying an electric car today.

Please note that in terms of pricing, as of early 2022, Lexus is selling the UX 300e at a price of around $100,000.
