Now that people are finally leaving their pandemic hibernations and going out into the world once again, not only are the movies back, but real-life dating as well. Enter: Date night. For those looking to take things to the next level, this year promises a new slate of sexy films to get you in the mood.
Many of 2022’s sexiest films carry a sense of danger , and demand that the viewer leave their comfort zones behind to enter some perilous new activities. Whether it’s to normalize BDSM play, like in Love & Leaches , or to commit flat-out murder in films like Deep Water and X , love doesn’t come easy as directors break the mold to try and become one of the sexiest movies of all time .

A South Korean romantic comedy about workplace power dynamics, Jung Ji-woo enters a "play" contract with her male coworker after discovering his guilty secret: he's into male-submissive BDSM. A British romantic period piece set after World War I, Mothering Sunday tells the story of Jane Fairchild, an orphaned maid who enjoys walking through the estate's library completely nude and running her fingers over their massive book collection. Michael Damgaard, 34, of Dauphin, is a suspended Harrisburg dentist who pleaded guilty Tues., Sept. 6, 2022, to simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal use of a communication facility. He was initially charged with rape and multiple other sexual assault-related offenses.
Jenay Aikey had hoped to face the former Harrisburg dentist at trial who she identified as raping her in the woods behind her home when she was as young as 15 years old.
But she didn’t get the chance. Michael B. Damgaard, of Dauphin, took a plea deal Tuesday to a fraction of the charges he had faced, avoiding a trial that was expected to start Wednesday in Snyder County.
He also will avoid having to register as a sex offender. Instead, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault, and two felonies: endangering the welfare of a child and criminal use of a communication facility (cell phone.) In exchange, the district attorney dropped 18 other charges including rape and statutory sexual assault.
As part of the deal, Damgaard, whose dental license is suspended, could be sentenced to three to 12 months in a county jail each for the endangering charge and assault charge, and probation for up to seven years. The criminal use of his cell phone charge is also expected to carry probation up to seven years, for a total of 14 years of supervision under sex offender conditions. He also must undergo a psychosexual evaluation and follow the recommended treatment.
At most, he faces up to two years in county prison, minus one day.
Common Pleas Judge Dudley Anderson, a senior judge from Lycoming County, will decide the final sentence, including the exact number of months Damgaard will spend behind bars, at a later date. In the meantime, Damgaard remains free on bond, as he has since his arrest.
Aikey and her guardians, Mike and Christine Dupuy, did not feel justice was accomplished with the plea deal.
“Not only did I get raped,” Aikey told PennLive after the hearing. “I got raped by the system as well.”
Aikey, now 18, said she wanted her voice to be heard in the courtroom before a decision was made on his case and she wanted a conviction equivalent to what she says she went through. The sexual assaults capped a childhood of sex trafficking beginning when Aikey was just eight years old. Her trauma-filled past was one reason the district attorney reluctantly opted for the plea deal to protect her from further trauma on the stand, said Michael Piecuch.
A hint of what Aikey likely would have seen at trial was on display during the hearing Wednesday when Damgaard said Aikey “misrepresented and lied about her age,” and that he had “consensual sex” with her.
Police got DNA from Aikey that matched Damgaard after the final sexual assault she reported, but she had just turned 16, which changes the legal threshold for sexual consent in Pa. law. A defendant can argue that they believed a person was 18.
Damgaard said repeatedly Wednesday that he was not made aware that Aikey was a minor until after the final sexual contact, despite her reports to police that she told him she was 15 from the start. His reply, she said, was that he wished she was younger.

The judge on Wednesday intervened and required Damgaard to at least admit he “should have known” she was not 18 to be able to plead guilty to the charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
“Should you have known or made further inquiries into the age of the person?” Anderson said.
“People who sexually exploit children often target the most vulnerable children by design,” Piecuch said. “These victims are the least likely to report these crimes, and when they do report, the trauma they’ve suffered makes it difficult to face their perpetrator in court. Withstanding the ordeal of cross-examination by the defense can be too much for some victims, and understandably so.”
The plea agreement had three other basic goals, Piecuch said: to hold the defendant publicly accountable with a guilty plea, to punish his crimes with jail time, and to require long-term court supervision once he’s released.
“Because of the victim’s courage and resilience, these goals were achieved,” he said.
Christine Dupuy said she thought the fact the hearing was conducted through a Zoom call was a slap in the face. The remote hearing was scheduled online because the judge was out of town. But Dupuy said the digital hearing didn’t carry the same import as the crimes in the case.
“The judge didn’t even get to see her,” Christine Dupuy said of Jenay. “The Zoom session was dehumanizing.”
During an interview with PennLive last week, Aikey described her unstable childhood home and said Damgaard raped her four times after the pair met on through MeetMe, a social networking platform. According to Aikey, Damgaard asked how old she was, and when she said 15, he instructed her to move their conversation to Snapchat, where messages automatically disappear, and to delete her MeetMe profile.
After the fourth assault in a wooded area off Bucksey Road in Penns Creek, Aikey and Damgaard emerged from the tree line and were confronted by Aikey’s mother, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Believing he had committed a criminal act with her daughter, she attempted to stop him from leaving, but he reportedly knocked her to the ground and dragged her with his Audi as she held his arm.
The simple assault charge stemmed from Damgaard’s altercation with Aikey’s mother.
Aikey told PennLive the sadness, anxiety and anger she’s felt since the alleged assaults pushed her to try to kill herself multiple times. The latest attempt was over the summer. Since she didn’t get to testify at a trial, Aikey is now putting her energy into drafting a victim impact statement she can read at the sentencing.
Damgaard’s attorney, Kyle Rude, said during Tuesday’s hearing that he had letters of recommendation for Damgaard’s character that he wanted the judge to read before determining the final jail time.
A GoFundMe has been launched with a $50,000 goal to help cover Aikey’s legal and education expenses.
Aikey hopes to finish high school and attend college to study pre-law. She wants to travel to countries like Indonesia and Japan, and it’s her dream to become a prosecutor and obtain her falconer’s license. She also hopes other victims of sexual assault might be inspired by her transparency and come forward to report crimes they may have experienced.
“There is a way out,” Aikey said she wants other sexual assault survivors to remember. “There are people out there who can help you. It can hurt a lot to separate from somebody who hurts you, but you have to do it to survive.”
