Jersey cricket teamThe Jersey men's cricket team is the team that represents the Bailiwick of Jersey, a Crown dependency, in international cricket. They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2005, and an associate member in 2007.
Inter-Insular cricketInter-Insular cricket refers to cricket contests between representative teams of Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands. An inter-insular match has been played annually between the two sides since 1950 and often attracts crowds above 1,000. It is often referred as ‘reds vs greens’ contest. The format has varied over the years but has been played as a 50-over contest in recent times and a Women’s Inter-Insular match was first played in 2009. In 2018, the format switched to a series of Twenty20 matches, although the traditional 50-over match returned from 2019 in addition to the Twenty20 series. The Twenty20 matches have had men's Twenty20 International (T20I) status since 2019, as the International Cricket Council granted T20I status to all of its members from the start of the year. On 31 May 2019, there was also a one-off women's Twenty20 International fixture between the two women's teams. It was the first T20I match for both the teams.
List of tied Twenty20 InternationalsA Twenty20 International (T20I) is an international cricket match between two representative teams, each having T20I status, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. The first such match was played between Australia and New Zealand on 17 February 2005. A Twenty20 International can have three possible results: it can be won by one of the two teams, it could be tied, or it could be declared to have "no result". For a match to finish as a tie, both teams must have scored the same number of runs. The number of wickets lost is not considered. Although such matches are recorded as ties, a tiebreak is usually played; prior to December 2008, this was a bowl-out, and since then it has been a Super Over. The first tied T20I occurred in 2006, between New Zealand and the West Indies. Hosted at Eden Park in Auckland, it was the fifth T20I. The crowd had started to leave the stadium, disappointed with the result, when the bowl-out was announced; the 2007 Wisden Cricketers' Almanack reported that "suddenly the evening took a madcap turn." The next tie, involving India and Pakistan, happened during the group stages of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20. India won the resulting bowl-out, and were awarded two points, the equivalent of a win. In October 2008, the tie between Canada and Zimbabwe was the final international match to be decided by a bowl-out; Zimbabwe won 3–1. Two months later, New Zealand and the West Indies took part in the first Super Over in an international. The West Indies won the eliminator by scoring 25 runs in their extra over, compared to New Zealand's 15. On 17 June 2018, a T20I between Scotland and Ireland was ended in a tie, though no Super Over was played. It was the tenth T20I match to end in a tie, and the first since the ICC playing conditions were implemented in September 2017, not to end with a Super Over. However, both teams knew that there would not be a Super Over in the event of a tie before the match. The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that there should have been a Super Over, and apologised for the oversight. On 21 April 2021, a rain-curtailed T20I match between Malaysia and the Netherlands was ended in a tie, again no Super Over was played due to the lost time. As of 14 March 2025, there have been 40 tied Twenty20 Internationals. Every Test-playing nation except Bangladesh has been involved in a tied T20I. New Zealand have played in the most, involved in ten tied matches.
Associate international cricket in 2022The 2022 Associate international cricket season was from approximately May to September 2022. All official twenty over matches between Associate members of the ICC were eligible to have full Twenty20 International (T20I) or Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted T20I status to matches between all of its members from 1 July 2018 (women's teams) and 1 January 2019 (men's teams). The season included all T20I/WT20I cricket series mostly involving ICC Associate members, that were played in addition to series covered in International cricket in 2022. In July 2022, Cambodia, the Ivory Coast and Uzbekistan were all awarded Associate Membership of the ICC.
2022 Men's T20I Inter-Insular SeriesThe 2022 Men's T20I Inter-Insular Series, consisting of three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches, was held in Guernsey from 20 to 21 May 2022. The first match was played at College Field in Saint Peter Port, and the remaining matches were played at King George V Sports Ground in Castel. Jersey and Guernsey have played an Inter-Insular cricket match annually since 1950, generally as 50-over contests. A Twenty20 series was played for the first time in 2018, and the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup had official T20I status for the first time, following the International Cricket Council's decision to grant T20I status to all matches played between Associate Members after 1 January 2019. Jersey are the defending champions of the T20I Inter-Insular series, having won the 2019 series 3–0. There were no Inter-Insular matches in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this series, Jersey were on a ten-game winning streak against Guernsey across all formats. Jersey claimed another 3–0 series win to retain the T20 trophy. Jersey won the first match by 37 runs, the second match by 60 runs, and the third match again by 37 runs. All-rounder Harrison Carlyon put in man-of-the-match performances in both of the first two games to play a major part in securing the series for Jersey. After Guernsey had taken two early wickets in the final game of the series, Jersey's Asa Tribe scored 65 runs from 32 balls to lead his side to their highest total in an official T20I. The teams also contested the 50-over Inter-Insular Trophy match in Jersey in September 2022, and a women's T20I series was played in June 2022.
Associate international cricket in 2023The 2023 Associate international cricket season included series starting from April to September 2023. All official twenty-over matches between Associate members of the ICC were eligible to have full men's Twenty International or women's Twenty20 International (T20I) status, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted T20I status to matches between all of its members from 1 July 2018 (women's teams) and 1 January 2019 (men's teams). The season included all T20I cricket series mostly involving ICC Associate members, that were played in addition to series covered in International cricket in 2023.
