Listen up. Iโ€™m zazzyfraz. Iโ€™m gonna drop some Knowledge here about twink BoEs in Shadowlands as a reputable seller and trader of goods between twinks and an actual twink player myself. Iโ€™m tired of seeing these box opening videos touting random BoEs as possible twink items. These possibly add unnecessary confusion or mystery about previously-tested loot tables to farmers. SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FARMER FRIENDS WHO ARE FARMING TWINK ITEMS FOR GOLD.
The value of twink items isnโ€™t hard to decide based on looking at an item and itโ€™s stats and comparing to whatโ€™s available.
BoE twink items are of value because of their power, possible strong/useful special effects, and rarity. All of these factors are in consideration of a vast amount of powerful Soulbound/Bind on Pickup items available for free from any possible dungeons/rares/chests/quests at the targeted twinks level.
Twinking generally means getting the strongest items possible for a level. Past this, collecting the best swag/rare/cool items possible/available is a very very niche activity some very dedicated twinks might be into. So your targeted premium โ€œtwink gear buyerโ€ here for many clickbait twink gear videos are extremely rare, but they do exist.
The most active twink level is 20. Level 20 is the cap for wow-accounts that are un-subbed, and wow-accounts that are purely starter edition who never had gametime. Level 20 has access to island expeditions, many dungeons, and can join the very active 20-29 leveling PvP bracket via battlegrounds and arena skirmishes if their XP is kept on with their level capped to 20 via the account status restriction.
Other "official" twink levels are 1, 10, 30, 39, 50. All with much less player base and BoE buying activity.
So you decided to target the 20 twink customer.. You need to be aware of the non-BoE items a 20 can get from many sources if you want to be effective in your item valuation. Pricing can be subjective, but a general market value can be placed on nearly all items, based on the many instances of items sales so far in SL. Because useful and in demand items, tend to actually sell.
https://twinkdb.github.io/ is an extremely valuable resource created by a twink player. It is a database of useful and viable items available at 20, and contains some information on their ranking compared to other options, and ease of obtaining. Some common BoEs are listed, but the site is mainly aimed at gear obtainable as a solo player.
You need to know where the level 20s play. With the addition of many new gear sources for 20s with Shadowlands level squish, twinking has become very community and peer to peer trading oriented compared to previous iterations. This leads to more clustering of players on popular twink realms or in twink guilds.
US/NA: Bleeding Hollow is the main NA region twink realm. Some twinks play on other realms such as Stormrage, Kelthuzad, Blackwing Lair, Thrall. But any serious auction house or trading goes on at Bleeding Hollow server. You'll make your farmer toons here.
EU: Ravencrest, Stormscale, Argent Dawn. Lesser activity on Draenor. Many players on Russian realms play but language barrier brings complications on pricing, buyer wealth and demand. I'm from NA so this is just from what I have seen based on community activity and guilds.
First let's go over some basic scaling rules:
Items usable by 20s are looted by toons level 17-25.
Greens: i28 lvl 19 armor, looted by 24/25. i25 lvl 19 weapons/offhand/shield, looted by 22/23.
World drop Blues: i28 lvl 19 armor, looted by 22/23. Level 20 loots lvl 18, ilvl 26 armor. i27 lvl 20 weapons/offhand/shield, looted by 20.
Dungeon specific Blues: all are i25 lvl 20, looted by 20.
World Epics: i28 lvl 20 armor, looted by 20. i27 lvl 18 weapons/shield looted by 17/18.
Specific source loot(Foamspittle Staff, Blackvenom Blade): all are green i24, blue i25, epic i26, looted by 20.
Lockboxes, most junkboxes, and chests follow these rules above. You can open a Legion lockbox and look at it's contents, and mail to a looter, the item will re-scale before being removed. Useful for picking a level you want a socketed green item on. (maybe to gear a farming toon or non-20).
ilvl 29 level 20 Vanilla Epic Armor is unobtainable version from BFA. Most are only desired for swag.
ilvl 26 level 16, and ilvl 28 level 19 Epic Vanilla Weapons/Shields are unobtainable version from BfA.
ilvl 28 lvl 20 Vanilla Blue weapons/offhands are unobtainable version from BfA.
Don't skimp on twinking out your 18-25 farm toons with socketed green BoEs or other strong items for its level if you aren't using a higher level toon to farm. https://www.wowhead.com/item=40771/cobalt-frag-bomb , https://www.wowhead.com/spell=54793/frag-belt , https://www.wowhead.com/item=13515/ramsteins-lightning-bolts , and https://www.wowhead.com/item=136975/hunger-of-the-pack?bonus=1826:1472&ilvl=23 are 4 powerful tools to help farm that any serious farm toon should have access to. The consumable version Frag Bombs can be skipped if on a budget.
The best selling and most active farm is simple:
Perfect Statted+Socketed+with Speed/Leech Legion or BfA level 19 i28 greens via a level 24/25. Legion is better because you can loot items with "single-stat" suffixes. Some socketed rings necks and capes will have value even without perfect stats, or bonus "tertiary" stats. Armor will go for less. Anything needs a socket for value. Lockboxes unlocked on any toon and sent to 25 will drop scaled greens as well. Any legion hyperspawn spot works. Bluewax Graverobber location in Highmountain is popular. This market has the most buyers, sellers, and volume of daily sales. Pricing can vary heavily, and certain drops can sell for large gold amounts.
If you like this type of multi-layer RNG hyperspawn farm, you can farm Perfect Statted+Socketed+Speed/Leech BfA level 19 i25 weapons/offhand/shield on a level 22/23. These will mostly sell based on their secondary stat combination. Offhands are the best seller in my opinion, as these are considered BiS (best in slot) compared to other options at 20. A common farm spot is Fallhaven Pig location in Drustvar.
That's it for valuable twink BoE greens.
Level 20, ilvl 28 looted on a 20. Level 17, ilvl 26 is the next lowest scaling. Eyasu's Mulligan gives just +2 secondary stats in PvP instances, it's only value is for 20 PvE and world PvP. It is considered good in those content. Six-Feather Fan has some value, but it's not something amazing. It also does less damage in PvP instances. Marfisi's Giant Censer is a useless item. Rings such as Sameed's Vision Ring are very nice, but have the same stat amount as single-statted legion green BoE rings, so should be priced w that consideration if any are available at the time of sale. Plate/Leather Chest armor epic has 15 secondary stats instead of 14 like an i28 green. There's 2 necks, both desirable stat combination. The intellect 2h mace isn't better than other options. All of these should have a socket to be considered valuable.
There are no Blue BoE gear items from legion. Any legion hyperspawn spot works.
Epic trinkets ilvl 28 lvl 20 Scabbard of Kyanos , Kyb's Foolish Perseverance , and Lucky Double-Sided Coin are valuable due to their power and rarity. Other trinkets very low or no value. Other armor items have no value. Farm these at Bladefury's Command in Talador, or in The Pit in Gorgrond, looted with a 20.
BoE Blue trinkets ilvl 28 lvl 20 from Draenor such as Bajheric Bangle all give half value in PvP instances. Even with nerf, most of these proc trinkets are still the highest available buff of their kind. All of the WoD BoE Blue trinkets are strong and have value. These trinkets are very powerful for 20 PvE. Loot with level 22/23. Aruuna in Talador. or Bladefury's Command are ideal farm spots, but there may be others. If you farm WoD for epics and the i27 blue dagger on a 20, youโ€™ll loot i26 lvl 18 versions of these trinkets, which will have less value and demand.
i27 lvl 20 Sliver of Na'the , looted with a 20, is an agi dagger valued for it's power and effort to obtain.
Thunderlord Longspear is an agi polearm, that is a once-per-character loot from a chest in Frostfire Ridge. If this item upgrades to epic ilvl 26, from blue i25, it has value. Looted on any 20.
All Pandaria Epics have no value based on their power or usefulness. Blue trinkets and helmets with meta gem slots are the only valuable armor . They are valued for their power and also effort/rarity to acquire. Looted lvl 20 i28 by a level 22/23. Zom's Misty Hood . Hood of Alchemical Vapors . Daelo's Final Words . Grakl's Gleaming Talisman . Endwyn's Toothy Visage seems to be the rarest drop. Daelo's is probably the most valuable and in-demand. There's a few other trinkets and meta-gem helms. Some i27 Blue daggers may have value, looted on 20. A preferred farm is the Stout Shaghorn location in Valley of the Four Winds.
Cataclysm: There currently are no known Cataclysm zone/content BoEs that are valuable for 20s.
A couple Epics . The Sash of Jordan isn't better than other options unless it's a pure starter edition toon. Signet of Edward the Odd only gives 17 haste at i28, its only valuable to a pure starter account who cant trade(or farm i28 green rings).
i27 lvl 18 The Dusk Blade is a very unique Epic dagger that has high value due to its power. This item can be targeted by farming pickpocket Reinforced Junkbox . The boxes NEED to be obtained via pickpocketing in a zone that starts at level 15 or lower, for any weapon inside to be allowed to scale to 18 when looted. Use any level pickpocketer and unlocker, boxes mailed to a 17/18 opener, for i27 lvl 18 dagger. These junkboxes can also drop Krol Cleaver , which has no use. There may be a spot 15 or lower that also drops dice toys as additional motivation to grind this farm. Some i27 Blue daggers from Wrath may have value, looted on 20.
Some Blues stand out right away. Not much else is useful.
i28 lvl 20 Feathermoon Headdress , a vanilla item, useful for niche caster builds. Able to be looted from Silverbound Treasure Chest in certain TBC zones on 22/23.
i28 lvl 20 Medallion of Grand Marshal Morris , a vanilla item, useful for niche tank builds. Able to be looted from Silverbound Treasure Chest in certain TBC zones on 22/23.
i27 lvl 20 Lapidis Tankard of Tidesippe , a vanilla item, useful for niche caster builds. Able to be looted from Silverbound Treasure Chest in certain TBC zones on 20.
i27 lvl 20 Blade of Trapped Knowledge , useful for niche caster builds, looted on 20.
i27 lvl 20 Ced's Carver dagger, looted on 20.
i27 lvl 20 The Essence Focuser , looted on 20. High value and demand due to its power. Able to be looted from some Silverbound Treasure Chests in certain TBC zones.
i28 lvl 20 The Master's Treads , looted on 22/23.
TBC Epics: All TBC Epics have shown to be very elusive for farmers and twinkers alike, with very low drop rates, and thousands of runs recorded by farmers, and twinks running TBC for boss drops. This effects the value greatly for these items.
i27 lvl 18 The Night Blade is a very unique Epic dagger that has high value due to its power. This item can be targeted by farming pickpocket Strong Junkbox . The boxes NEED to be obtained via pickpocketing in a zone/dungeon that starts at level 15 or lower, for any weapon inside to be allowed to scale to 18 when looted. Use any level pickpocketer and unlocker, boxes mailed to a 17/18 opener, for i27 lvl 18 dagger. It is likely this dagger has lower drop rate than The Dusk Blade from Wrath Boxes. However, this drop rate is nothing near the extreme rarity of TBC BoE Epics from looting enemies and bosses.
i28 lvl 20 The Night Watchman is an item with some value due to its special effect. Looted on a 20.
i28 lvl 20 Charlotte's Ivy and Lola's Eve are a ring and neck combo for casters with desired stats and a 2-pc bonus. These 2 items have high value for niche caster builds, but likely aren't BiS for most players. Looted on a 20. T hey have the same stats if i26, looted by 17-18.
i27 lvl 18 Epic weapons , looted with a 17/18 are extremely rare. A few are also very powerful, leading to massive potential value. They are so rare that most are untested for if their buffs function on a character as low as 20. A level 18 Blade of Wizardry has been seen on a twink. A single leveler reported a drop at 16-17 in Sethekk Halls of The Night Blade level 18 ilvl 27. Singing Crystal Axe , Blade of Wizardry , Blinkstrike , Don Santos' Famous Hunting Rifle , The Night Blade .
Singing Crystal Axe and Blade of Wizardry will be a guaranteed sale for a very high value. Multi-Millions possible. If you get them, test the items on the PTR.
i25 lvl 20 The Jackhammer is an extremely rare 2h Mace with one of the strongest weapon effect proc available in all of World of Warcraft. This is a guaranteed Gold Cap if you loot this on a 20 in the Uldaman dungeon or from the enemies outside the instance. Good Luck!
i25 lvl 20 Vibroblade is a very strong 1h axe, with the highest of the 3 armor reducing proc effects available at 20. This effect does not stack with multiple users or when dual-wielded. The effect works in PvP instances. High Value and Demand. Looted on a 20 in Gnomeregan dungeon.
ilvl 25 lvl 20 Winter's Bite , same effect as Hammer of Northern Wind, just on an Axe instead. Unknown if this item can scale under 21.
ilvl 26 lvl 20 Foamspittle Staff is a green 2h int staff from Murloc Oracle in Westfall that can upgrade to Epic, it has value due to its high versatility amount and effort to obtain. Looted on a 20
ilvl 25 lvl 20 Blackvenom Blade is very rare Blue 1h agi dagger from pickpocketing Battered Junkboxes. It has value due to its power(8agi), unique proc, and effort to obtain. There is a world spot for farming Battered Junkbox in Duskwood, if you are using a trial lvl 50 rogue. Send these unlocked boxes to a 20. Because the item used to drop from a rare, it is possible for the item to Epic upgrade to ilvl 26, but it is unknown if they can upgrade when looted from junkboxes.
Some World Drop Blues stand out, but none are very rare.
i27 lvl 20 Gnarled Ash Staff , from Enormous Bullfrog in RFK, on a 20.
i27 lvl 20 Zealot Blade , farmed from Enormous Bullfrog in RFK, on a 20
i27 lvl 20 Combatant Claymore , farmed from Enormous Bullfrog in RFK, on a 20
i27 lvl 20 Jaina's Firestarter , on a 20
i27 lvl 20 Orb of Mistmantle , looted from Wetlands chests on a 20.
i28 lvl 20 Feathermoon Headdress , a vanilla item, useful for niche caster builds. Also able to be looted from Silverbound Treasure Chest in certain tbc zones on 22/23.
i28 lvl 20 Medallion of Grand Marshal Morris , a vanilla item, useful for niche tank builds. Also able to be looted from Silverbound Treasure Chest in certain tbc zones on 22/23.
i27 lvl 20 Lapidis Tankard of Tidesippe , a vanilla item, useful for niche caster builds. Also able to be looted from Silverbound Treasure Chest in certain tbc zones on 20.
Vanilla Epics : Most vanilla epics have no use. Some weapons seem to be impossible to loot at i27.
i27 lvl 18 The Green Tower is a shield with some value due to it's special effect while having viable stats. It is likely looted in Uldaman/Dire Maul on 17/18.
i27 lvl 18 Dazzling Longsword has a special debuff proc that does not stack with other versions of the weapon. This Faerie Fire armor-reducing proc does NOT work in instanced PvP. Likely looted in Uldaman/Dire Maul on 17/18. It's only use is for PvE and Vibroblade is easier to obtain with a stronger effect, and actually works in PvP instances. Phantom Blade is an even easier item to get with similar effect. But doesn't work in PvE instances, further adding value to the Vibroblade BoE
Some epics can drop from Emerald Encrusted Chest . LOOT THESE ON A LEVEL 18!! 18 IS THE MOST EFFICIENT FOR Emerald Encrusted Chest FARMING FOR 20 TWINK ITEMS. Looting epic armor from these boxes scales them to ilvl 28 level 18. And Weapons will be ilvl 27 level 18. The only Epic items with any twinking value from Emerald Encrusted Chest : Freezing Band , Hammer of the Northern Wind , Blackskull Shield , Flurry Axe , Ring of Saviors , Precisely Calibrated Boomstick . The i27 Precisely Calibrated Boomstick is the most valuable and desired item from the Emerald Encrusted Chest . Loot them on an 18 don't forget! These boxes have been heavily tested, there shouldn't be any surprising or new drops from them. ilvl 28 level 18 freezing band is a cool item for a level 18 "epic weapon-looter" toon/twink.
i28 lvl 20 Cloudkeeper Legplates can be looted in LBRS on a 20. There may be a smaller chance it can also drop in Sunken Temple. This item shares cooldown with trinkets. It resets cooldown when you enter an arena. They put others on cooldown if the user owns more than 1. High value.
i28 lvl 20 Cloak of Flames may be a possible drop in LBRS on a 20, but none have been shared yet. Has value due to unique effect and high rarity. A lower version would have value if found as well.
i27 lvl 18 Teebu's Blazing Longsword can be looted from Heavy Junkbox on a 17/18. The item has no twinking value due to it's power or effect, but it is notable because it doesn't seem possible to loot from any other sources under level 25.
It seems impossible to loot "higher tier" Vanilla Epic BoEs under 20. In addition, it seems that it's not possible to loot most or all vanilla Epic BoEs in open world from enemies, while under level 19. Epic BoEs that are considered "mid-tier" are dropping for 17-18s in Zul'Farrak dungeon, such as Boomsticks, Flurry Axes, Freezing Bands. "Higher-tier" items such as i28 level 20 Cloudkeeper Legplates have dropped only in LBRS.
Based on public information shared including thousands of world kills and ZF/SM runs, it seems the following "high-tier" items don't drop under 20. Or in open world at 20 or lower. They all may be possible from LBRS or Sunken Temple on a 20. But this leaves the weapons/shield i27 lvl 18 versions as unobtainable until proven false. This would include ultra powerful and wanted items: Destiny , Hand of Edward the Odd , and Skullflame Shield .
i26 lvl 18 / i28 lvl 20 Armor: Cloak of Flames , Sash of Mercy , Helm of Narv , Cloudkeeper Legplates , Jeweled Amulet of Cainwyn , Lady Maye's Pendant , Myrmidon's Signet , Lifestone (If you loot any of these items in open world on a 16-20 , or from a 15+ dungeon such as Zul'Farrak or Scarlet Monastery please share on xpoff.com forums, or in xpoff.com discord.)
i27 lvl 18 Weapon/Shield: Alcor's Sunrazor , Axe of the Deep Woods , Hand of Edward the Odd , Krol Blade , Brain Hacker
