20 Truths About Robot Vacuum Deals: Busted

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

Now is your chance to own a robot vacuum. CNET's top-rated models are available for sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to detect objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills quickly and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.

The design is also superior to the other models. It features an elegant, top piece that resembles an toy, not an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt removal System also self-empties, which can cut down on cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect sand, small gravel and even a little grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. And all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.

The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, is still a good option for those who want both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take some time to download updates and it's sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. These bots also have various additional features, including smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock has some of our top robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and although it lacks some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb and has very few misses in corners and on walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.

If you select the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It features a large LCD screen which is helpful in setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone but it can aid in keeping the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and functionality are some of the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.

The base station is attractive and is hidden when it's not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The station's most appealing point is how it automates various tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robovac I've tested that does well at picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially in the area of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. robotvacuummops.com 's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.

Although it doesn't provide the same amount of cleaning options available in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone seeking a great all-round mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price price.

If you're looking to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other great choices on the market which include a variety of eufy models priced considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive, but offers more features, including stairs and a fully-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on plain floors carpets with low pile as well as high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vacuums with the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpeted flooring, and mopping functions for a low cost. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be located near an outlet and have enough space to move.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern over two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its rivals. It uses an integrated map to make an image of the immovable items in its path. It can remember what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. It will return to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning where it left off.

The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has similar battery life and is more effective on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is, however is more affordable and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and it's less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
