It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
