Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a stronger, more constant effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature.
