Ill start at the beginning. I'm 18 years old, and I attend an all girls sixth form college. Before you ask, im male. I chose to attend there for a number of reasons, primariliy the education. Ive been there nearly a year now and when i decided to first attend, I made the decision to myself to try and keep all sexual matters private. But, as you all probably already know this becomes difficult when youre around a bunch of turned on eighteen year olds.

So, when I was at secondary school, there was an incredible pressure for the students to loose their virginity. My best friend being the figure-head and symbol for all males as he was the most sexually experienced, loosing his virginity at 16. At the time, im not going to lie, i was concerned about my own virginity but had intimacy issues and wanted to move away from that due to being treated very shoddily by women in the past.

So not long after joining my sixth form college, the topic did arise, "Are you a virgin?" Now i hope someone can be sympathetic and realise the situation i was in. There are 2 males in my sixth form, and im not being big headed in saying i do get quite a bit of attention from the girls. I really didnt want to lie, but felt like such a looser around all these women who had supposedly all "done it" that I just gave them a quick and blunt answer of, "no im not a virgin." I know i shouldnt have lied but i did.

Time passes by and myself and one particular woman start to fall for each other. Now we're seeing each other, it hasnt been too long but we're both very comfortable with each other. The issue came up not too long ago about us "getting down to it" and I just fobbed her off with some story. She has asked me before about who ive been sexually active with (she did this in front of her friends, may i add), and I just told her that id been with two people but it was nothing particularly special. I had been with two people previously and had been intimate but never had sex with either of them.

Her previous boyfriend she'd been with for two and a half years and had lost her virginity to him. Now its time for us to get down to it and I dont know whether to just try and blag my first time, hoping she doesnt notice, or tell her the truth, that I lied to her previously in front of her friends because I was embarassed that I had never had sex before. She really does mean a lot to me and I really dont want to be a disappointment to her in the bedroom.

Any advice?

First of all, still being a virgin is not a bad thing, not by any means. There are many people out there who could only wish that they still had their virginity intact. In fact, there are more people these days opting to maintain their virginity until marraige. Peer pressure is tough, but at 18, you are considered an adult with the ability to make adult decisions.
You are the only one who can make this decision. You have to really want to loose your virginity, not beacuse "everyone" else has, or because this girl is thinking that the time has come to get down to business.
You probably shouldn't have lied, but at the time you were cought in an embarrassing situation, which is understandable.
You are the keeper of your own gate. You are the one who decides in which direction your life goes. Sex is a very small part of it, and as time goes on, you will see that sex is just a tad over rated.
There is so many facets to sex. Jumping on is the easy part. Before that, there are birth control issues, sexually transmitted disease issues and emotional issues. If your friends smoke, are you going to? If your friends do drugs, are you going to? If your friends jump off a bridge, will you?
You make the decision. If you really care about this girl and you feel you are ready to take it to the next level, by all means go for it. I think i would take her aside and tell her the truth. She will probably expect more than you are able to give, so fessing up and being truthful is probably your best bet. First time sex is clumsy and awkward, it's like being in a strange place for the first time with no lights on.
Maybe you can have a talk with your guy friends, possibly a best friend.
Have him give you a few pointers.
Girls can be "rude" to. If something goes wrong in the bedroom, they cluck like chickens to their friends, but the same goes the other way as well. If something goes right in the bedroom, they still talk.
Just be honest and straight up with yourself. You will know when the time is right. Whether it is today or tomorrow or next year for that matter. You want your first time to be a memorable experience, not a train wreck.
