A California teen is defending her work in the porn industry, after a profile about her X-rated side-gig set off a firestorm when it was published in her school newspaper last week.
Speaking with CBS13 on Monday, Bear Creek High School senior Cailtin Fink vehemently defended the controversial article, insisting that her pornographic pursuits should not be a 'taboo topic'.
'Adult entertainers aren't just objects, they are actual people. They have feelings; they have goals; they have motivation,' the 18-year-old declared.
The profile on Fink, titled 'Risky Business: Starting a Career In the Adult Entertainment Industry', was published on Friday despite initial concerns from district officials that it might violate obscenity bylaws. .

In the piece, Fink tells of how she turned to porn after leaving home last New Year's Eve.
The high schooler started out selling nudes, and quickly began earning as much as $475 per hour.
'When I first started selling, it was just for money,' the teen explained. 'But then I liked the attention I got, being called beautiful. I enjoyed it because it made me feel good about myself'.
Fink later hired an agent, and recalls being 'so excited' when she learned she would be doing professional scenes with Pornhub.

In addition to attending class and pursuing a porn career, Fink also works as a dishwasher
She passed mandatory blood test every two weeks in order to film sex scenes but was told to get her body acne cleared up because the camera picks up details.
Fink's first professional porn shoot was cancelled as a result and she hasn't earned anything so far with the website.
She now has a second job as a dishwasher to make ends meet.
But speaking with CBS13, the high schooler says she has no plans to stop pursuing a porn career.

'I like the positive attention I get from it,' she stated, adding that she'd also like to be a stripper and a model.
Fink also told the TV station that she chose to be profiled for her school newspaper to combat myths surrounding adult entertainers.
'When people found out I was doing that, they assumed all these things about me, and I was like, 'oh no that’s not true,' she stated.

Prior to publication, the school newspaper's adviser, English teacher Kathi Duffel, accused district officials of censorship after they demanded to review and approve the article before publication.
In an April 11 letter, district Superintendent Cathy Nichols-Washer warned of possible discipline, 'up to and including dismissal' if Duffel refused.
Duffel refused on free speech grounds, and officials in the district eventually agreed to let an attorney review the story.
Duffel, who has taught English for 33 years in the Lodi School District, believed that Fink should be able to tell her own story.
She believes the article doesn't glamorize pornography, but it 'will help students think more critically about the choices they do make at this age in their lives.'

Be honest with yourself and accept that it may or may not work out for you. With that in mind, you'll want to take the following steps in how to become a teenage model.
As a teenager, you will need the support of a parent, both parents, or your legal guardian.
Sit down with them and have a serious conversation . Convince them of how dedicated you are to pursing teen modeling.
There are many reasons you need their support. Modeling for teens can be a challenge since you are most likely still in school and will need help in finding ways to balance it all.
Bottom Line: there may be expenses involved once you do get started, and agencies will need their approval and signature on contracts if it gets to that point.
To start, you do not need to spend hundreds of dollars on professional photos by a professional photographer.
The reason for this is that modeling agencies are looking to see the natural you. What is your facial structure, your hair length, your body type?
Your facial structure includes such things as a high forehead, pronounced cheekbones, or puffy lips.
