17 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Avoid Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, stains) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. automatic vacuum has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It is able to change its course automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-refilling.
The only issue I have found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or separately. auto vacuum can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use and the X40's clever features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features which make it a good option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list however it's not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
