17 Reasons Why You Should Avoid Greenpower Mobility
Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Greenpower creates, manufactures and distributes a variety of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles. This includes transit buses as well as school buses as well as cargo buses and shuttles.

EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle with a high degree of customization. It's also FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It provides a wide range of options, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery configurations.
EV Star
GreenPower Motor Company produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and it is able to be adapted to suit a variety of applications. The platform's design is based on a clean paper sheet, which allows for the best placement of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This leads to better payload/range ratios.
mymobilityscooters REEFERX is designed to serve mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The class 4 refrigerated truck's one interior wall structure and higher insulation compared to traditional trucks allow for seamless sanitation, improved temperature control and a more extended life. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior cargo capacity and a top payload to range ratio for zero emission passenger transport and goods.
GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to easily make the transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW.
We were capable of testing the EV9 on a local highway for several hours. We found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive over long distances. The ride is smooth over ruts and bumps, while the EV9 is a master of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by simply taking off the accelerator.
The EV9 has a great range and can be fully recharged in just three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two operating modes that include eco mode and sports mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control and the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, microtransit and transit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet the demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Check back for updates as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will provide more details about this revolutionary EV.
