The iRobot S9+ is not extremely loud when it's operating making it a great option for families with pets or children.

They're an excellent choice for busy families and are becoming more affordable. If you want top-of-the-line features on your robotic cleaner, you'll have to spend a bit more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is a great choice for people who live in a multi-floored apartment. Its dual motors offer incredible cleaning power and the 0.6l dustbin can store plenty of pet hair. The dustbin is able to be removed and emptied easily this is important because you'll need to do it regularly.
It's also easy to set up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. You'll need to install the Eufy Home app and follow the directions for connecting it to your Wi-Fi network. After you've completed this the app will assist you create an accurate map of your home. You can name the rooms, break large spaces into sub-rooms to make it easier to open-plan living, and guide the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas in need of cleaning at a particular time. Many other robots have similar mapping and scanning functions, but Eufy's application is more refined and user-friendly than the other.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can activate the mop or vacuum cleaner via voice thanks to its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a great feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It was very effective in our test home.
As with many robotic vacuums the X8 Hybrid has some issues with floors that are bare. It may miss fur and small objects and is known to knock things, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as some other models we've tested and the whirring noise can be distracting.

This model doesn't have as many features as some of the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a large enough dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt before it's empty and its vacuum and mop system is great for carpets with low pile and hard floors. It's also extremely quiet. We could watch TV while it cleaned without feeling like we were being overwhelmed by noise.
Our test subjects were extremely impressed by how simple the machine was to use and set up. They also loved its ability to remove all the messes that had accumulated on their flooring. It was effective in cleaning pet hair, messes, and carpeting, but it had a harder time removing stubborn stains. The app was easy to use and easy to understand. They could set up the vacuum to clean regularly to cut down on manual work. The only downside is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance, so you can't direct it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips work).
