1. Contours Itsy
A compact stroller that is also a compact stroller, the Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its size. The basket in the back of the seat is spring loaded, meaning that you can pull it down to put a diaper bag or backpack in and it will pop up to secure the contents. It comes with a child's accessory holder and an adjustable reclined seat pad. This is more than you would see on a typical light stroller.
Additionally, it comes with an impressive canopy that can be opened and close to give you the level of sun protection you need, and the handlebar can be adjusted in height in four positions to ensure a good fit. We weren't as impressed with the quality of its ride on rough surfaces. We found that the wheels and suspension didn't perform a great job of absorbing shocks and bumps.
It's a perfect stroller for traveling because it arrives in a box that is fully assembled, and requires only a few steps to make it set to use. The seat can be moved back and forward to adjust the recline. It's a bit flat. It's easy to fold and unfold thanks to two buttons on the frame. It also fits into an easy-to-carry bag when it's not being used. It's actually one of the most compact strollers we tested, and it fulfills the requirements of most airlines for gate-checking and cabin storage, on airplanes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus
This is an excellent option to those looking for a stroller that is light and easy to carry. It comes with all the features parents want in a stroller, including all-terrain wheels and front suspension for an easy ride. It's also extremely light with a weight of less than 12 pounds. It folds with one hand and stands up on its own. It has two cups holders on each tray to accommodate the parent and child.
Its quality, though, is a little on the low side, and it did not perform well in our maneuverability tests. It is a slender frame which makes pushing it across rough surfaces feel like lifting heavy weights. It may be fine if you only use the stroller on sidewalks that are paved. However, for the majority of people, it's not ideal.
The Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy as well as a peek-a-boo window for additional sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can accommodate children as heavy as 50 pounds and uses five points of safety restraint. This is a great choice for older toddlers who have outgrown their car seats for infants.
It's compact and folds up in a single step. It can be folded by pressing the button. It also has a convenient brake that is triggered by the foot and easy to set and release.
However the handle is lower than many of the other strollers we tested and some parents may feel uncomfortable for extended periods of time. The handle is secured in position when it's opened. This is a great feature if you intend to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow is the ultimate stroller for parents on the go. The compact stroller can be folded up and down with ease and fits in the overhead compartments of planes, or trunks in amusement parks (no need to fret about parking fees). It comes with a convenient zip carrying bag for easy storage. It is able to be used from birth with the infant car seat adapter, and provides a decent amount of shade with its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only issue is that some parents find the style to be uninspiring and cheap.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ stroller is more expensive than other light single strollers. However, it was designed specifically for urban living and luxurious travel. It is among the easiest strollers to fold and comes with a handy carry case. It is packed with storage space and a cup holder. The seat reclines to almost flat for both the child and adult. This is the only stroller on our list that comes with an adapter for car seats to allow it to be used with infants. The handlebar is not adjustable and could pose an issue for parents who are taller.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 isn't the lightest stroller on our list, but it comes with many wonderful features that make traveling with kids easier. The large seat reclines to a pretty flat position, and comes with extra padding so that those airplane naps last longer. The extendable canopy has plenty of sun-shade, and the parent tray provides plenty of storage. It also has an adjustable footrest that can double as a handle when folded. This footrest is prone to damage by baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Minu V2
Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller that is stylish and has a high-end design and quality. Its compact design makes it easy to navigate through tight spaces and narrow sidewalks however its sturdy construction lets it handle rough terrain without compromising comfort of your child. Front and rear spring-action suspension creates a more comfortable ride for both of you, while its robust materials ensure that it can withstand the wear and tear of everyday life without losing its shape. It can also be extended to accommodate other accessories, such as a bassinet and infant car seat.
In our testing, the Minu was easy to fold and move around even with a child in hand. Its squat almost square fold that folds into thirds, is among the most simple folds we've seen and allows it to fit into overhead compartments on planes or in public transportation. It also comes with a single-action brake with color coded that is easy to use.
The seat reclines in multiple positions and the leg rest can be adjusted using one hand, making it simple to determine your child's ideal position. The UPF 50+ hood came down quite a bit and was ideal for protecting Cora's eyes from the sun (though not as low as some other strollers). The medium-sized mesh window is magnetically attached to the canopy and closes without the use of noisy Velcro.
At less than 15 pounds, the Minu is easy to carry thanks to its built-in carry handle and shoulder strap. It can be tucked away in the trunk of your vehicle, and comes with a storage case and Uppababy TravelSafe which extends the warranty of the manufacturer by two years and includes replacements if items are damaged during air travel.
5. Joovy Aire
Joovy, the well-known brand of strollers, produces a variety of models. This stroller is light and ideal for parents looking for a sturdy stroller that can take their children. It is easy to maneuver, comes with plenty of storage space, and is easy to fold. It's not the ideal choice for those who want an automobile seat-compatible model or a double stroller, though. It won't work with infant car seats, and your children must be able to sit independently before they can use the stroller starting from the beginning.
This stroller is packed with features and comes at a reasonable price. It scored higher on our maneuverability test than other strollers with similar specs. It's also a great choice for smooth surfaces. It has a large parent tray, canopy, and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is a bit stiff, and the handlebar is smaller in diameter than normal, however it still provides a comfortable ride for adults.
If you have twins, or two children of different ages you may discover a side by side stroller the best option to take them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which offers plenty of features and a small footprint that fits where most other side-by-side alternatives won't.
