Although Anker-owned Eufy has made its name in budget robot vacuums, it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model which can also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that offers a range of features that are advanced and can compete with more expensive models.
The most significant selling point for Eufy with this device is its laser navigation. The X8 makes use of laser mapping technology that is more accurate than the previous Eufy devices. It also takes a lot less time to create a comprehensive picture of your home and can store multiple maps, which is ideal for multi-floor homes.
The X8 is still a decent vacuum on floors with no dust that can carry debris under its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with relative ease. Its tyres are also very adept at hugging edges and corners, even though they're circular. It's not the best cat litter picker, though as our tests show it only removes about 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.
The basic mopping mode uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. While this is great for loose spills however, you aren't able to regulate the amount of water it is using which can limit its effectiveness when dealing with more severe staining. It does a good job of removing pet hair. It has a higher rate of pick-up than the Roborock S7.
3. Miele RX2
Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is renowned for its quiet, efficient appliances. It has a beautiful design, superb navigation and an impressive cleaning power. But it has a few operational oddities that prevent it from being ranked as the top overall smart robot vacuum.
Like iRobot's latest models and models, the RX2 features a dual-sensor mapping system which uses a LIDAR sensor to map out the space and three 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. Once mapped the app allows you to assign virtual no-go areas and preferred areas that the robot will automatically clean. You can also start cleaning manually or change the cleaning mode, view a live feed from the cameras onboard and more on the main screen.
The RX2 has superior sensors that can identify furniture and other obstructions immediately. Its sweeping and suction power are top-of-the-line, picking up surface litter from medium-pile carpeting and embedded dust on floors that are unfinished. It's not the fastest robot on the market. It's not the most efficient climber, and it has problems with transition strips made of steel.
Some people buy a robot vacuum for the hands-off convenience of setting a schedule in an app and forgetting about it for weeks at an time. However, it's essential that a robot can get the job done, which is why our ZDNet staff looked over and tested a number of the most popular models to help you choose the right one for your home.

This budget robovac looks just like a typical robot, but it's a step up in terms of performance and features. Its composite score for flooring and carpet beats the competition and it was able to pick up 98.5 percent of dirt and embedded dog hair from our laboratory test samples.
The controls are less basic than those of the competition's. There's a clean button at the top, and you can start it using the app or by voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule daily or weekly cleanings, create no-go zones, and look up its history of cleaning. The 11S, like other robots, can also eat some items, including cords and cat toys. The manufacturer suggests you avoid this by keeping these items off the ground and by using a cord organizer when you can. It also suggests that you regularly clean the dustbin, replace the filters and clean or change the brushes as necessary.

It also has more advanced automation features than its competitors, such as the ability to set virtual boundary lines using its mobile app. It's a powerful robot vacuum, even though its app isn't the most responsive and the 980 spins out when it is pushed over cables.
One thing we love about the 980 is that it uses its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and visual simultaneous mapping and localisation technology (or vSLAM) to store the floor plan of your home. It will use this information to create a consistent, efficient cleaning path through each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a cleaner vacuum than other high-end robot vacuums.
Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that grab dirt on floors and carpets, as well as an ejector brush that spins to sweep debris into the robotic vacuum’s bin.
