How to Unlock your Vehicle

There are simple steps you can follow to replace your Volvo key fob battery on your own. First, locate a clean working surface to complete the procedure. Make a list of all the tools you'll require. Then, locate the battery hatch, and then open it with an open-ended flathead, coin, or another similar tool. Then, carefully remove the battery out of its socket by lifting it on the side closest to the key-ring loop. Make sure you wear rubber gloves to avoid damaging the contacts or the clips.

Once the battery has been removed, put the new one into its socket. Ensure that the positive side of the battery is facing up, and that all clips are secured. Slide the cover toward the key-ring portion until it becomes loose, and falls off. Remove the cover to reveal the hidden mechanical key blade. This will be used to unlock your vehicle from the driver's side in the event that the key fob battery is dead or has been lost.
