A mum-of-three has admitted having sex with a 14-year-old boy she invited to her home after watching him play soccer but says he looked much older and it didn’t “occur” to her he might be under age.
British woman Teah Vincent has pleaded not guilty to having sex with the year 9 student knowing he was under 16.
The Mirror reports that on Wednesday, Vincent told Gloucester Crown Court she was “sure” the boy told her he was 16 and Vincent “felt he looked much older”.

“It didn’t occur to me that he might be underage,” the 32-year-old said.
“He definitely didn’t tell me he was in Year 9, or that he was only 14, before we had sex.”
The court had previously heard that Vincent saw the boys playing soccer in a park near her Gloucestershire home on October 21, 2018.
She then invited them back for a glass of water and then began talking about her body and about sex, The Daily Star reported.
On Tuesday, prosecutor Christopher Smyth told the court she then took one of the boys upstairs while the other remained in the kitchen.
“[She] took the boy into her bedroom and told him to sit down on the bed. She left the room and reappeared a few moments later having removed her clothes,” Smyth said.
The pair had sex, but the boy ended up pushing her off and returning to his friend downstairs.
“I don’t deny we had sex. I didn’t force him, he happily responded on his own accord,” Vincent told the court on Wednesday.
It was only after the pair had sex that a conversation revealed his true age.
“There was a discussion about school and I realised he was not in the sixth form and it was only then I realised his actual age,” Vincent said.
“I think he panicked when he revealed his age being 14.
“I’m angry with myself and I am angry with them for lying about their ages.
“If I had known the truth at the time I wouldn’t be here in court now.”
Earlier the court heard Vincent had told the police: “Both youths told me they were 16 years old.”
But she declined to answer any other questions.
The Mirror also reported that Vincent was upset when asked about her three children and her dealings with social service workers following her charges.

A mum-of-three has been cleared by a jury of having sex with a boy in the knowledge he was only 14.
British woman, Teah Vincent, admitted to having sex with the boy she invited to her home after watching him play soccer but says he looked much older and it didn’t “occur” to her he might be underage.
The Mirror reports that during Vincent’s evidence on Wednesday, she told Gloucester Crown Court she was “sure” the boy told her he was 16 and “felt he looked much older”.

“He definitely didn’t tell me he was in Year 9, or that he was only 14 before we had sex.”
The court had previously heard that Vincent saw the boys playing soccer in a park near her Gloucestershire home on October 21, 2018 before she invited them back.

“I don’t deny we had sex. I didn’t force him, he happily responded on his own accord,” Vincent told the court on Wednesday.
The verdict came after late evidence emerged that the boy had given a false date of birth on his Facebook profile which listed his date of birth as 2000, The Mirror reported.
The boy told the court he had entered the false date after being given a new phone for his 13th birthday and had wanted to “access games and other things straight away”.
“I chose 2000 because 2001 or 2003 was ‘disorganised’. I forgot to change it when I got older.”
Defence barrister Catherine Flint, in her final speech to the jury, said: “You have heard a lot about Ms Vincent’s behaviour on that Sunday.
“You may have formed a view that her behaviour was morally questionable. However, your role is not to make moral judgements, but to decide if she broke the law.”
On Thursday she was discharged by Judge Ian Lawrie QC after a jury found her not guilty of knowingly having sex with an underage boy.
Vincent took to Facebook to share the news with friends and family, writing “NOT GUILTY”.
“THANKYOU EVERYONE THAT STOOD BEHIND ME AND BELIEVED ME ITS BEEN THE HARDEST TWO YEARS OFF MY LIFE.”

A mother woke up in the night to find her 14-year-old son raping her, a court heard.
Initially she thought it was a dream, but after realising the "enormity of the situation" she began screaming.
Her teenage son, who is on medication for ADHD, had been having behavioural problems in recent weeks, Preston Crown Cour was told.
For some years he had been in the habit of climbing into bed with his mother, but the boy - from Blackpool and now aged 15 - denied a charge of rape.
The prosecution said the woman had been asleep before waking and realising the "enormity of the situation, that her son was in the process of having sex with her".
In her police interview - which was taped and played in court, the woman said she was "trembling from the inside" after the alleged attack.
The teenager, who cannot be identified, left the courtroom while the interview was played.
Judge Pamela Badley explained to the jury he did not want to be present during the interview and that she had given him permission to leave.
Speaking of what happened, the woman told police: "I just know when I opened my eyes he was there. I don't even know what I said. He scuttled out of the room and didn't say anything.
"I just sat there holding my covers, screaming and thinking 'what the hell's just gone on?'
"Does he know what he is doing? Is he aware? Now I am actually thinking what state is he in? Does he know what he has done?"
The mother told investigators that her son had had issues for a long time.
She described her last 18 months with him as being an "absolute nightmare".
