Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Weapons

However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the more defense you have for your character, the more health you can get from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the corresponding fountain you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For instance, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a few of your friends.
You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. upgrade item 's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also gain perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's rarity and Mark Level.

A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
