A mum-of-three has admitted having sex with a 14-year-old boy she invited to her home after watching him play soccer but says he looked much older and it didn’t “occur” to her he might be under age.
British woman Teah Vincent has pleaded not guilty to having sex with the year 9 student knowing he was under 16.
The Mirror reports that on Wednesday, Vincent told Gloucester Crown Court she was “sure” the boy told her he was 16 and Vincent “felt he looked much older”.

“It didn’t occur to me that he might be underage,” the 32-year-old said.
“He definitely didn’t tell me he was in Year 9, or that he was only 14, before we had sex.”
The court had previously heard that Vincent saw the boys playing soccer in a park near her Gloucestershire home on October 21, 2018.
She then invited them back for a glass of water and then began talking about her body and about sex, The Daily Star reported.
On Tuesday, prosecutor Christopher Smyth told the court she then took one of the boys upstairs while the other remained in the kitchen.
“[She] took the boy into her bedroom and told him to sit down on the bed. She left the room and reappeared a few moments later having removed her clothes,” Smyth said.
The pair had sex, but the boy ended up pushing her off and returning to his friend downstairs.
“I don’t deny we had sex. I didn’t force him, he happily responded on his own accord,” Vincent told the court on Wednesday.
It was only after the pair had sex that a conversation revealed his true age.
“There was a discussion about school and I realised he was not in the sixth form and it was only then I realised his actual age,” Vincent said.
“I think he panicked when he revealed his age being 14.
“I’m angry with myself and I am angry with them for lying about their ages.
“If I had known the truth at the time I wouldn’t be here in court now.”
Earlier the court heard Vincent had told the police: “Both youths told me they were 16 years old.”
But she declined to answer any other questions.
The Mirror also reported that Vincent was upset when asked about her three children and her dealings with social service workers following her charges.

A WEALTHY heiress accused of having sex with a teenage boy has spoken for the first time since she was released from jail.
Savannah Daisley , 45, is alleged to have slept with the 14-year-old at least four times in a day and police now claim she told him to stay quiet about what happened in a phone call they wiretapped.
After being freed from prison on bail, Daisley was allowed to celebrate her son's eighth birthday during a supervised visit with her children.
She had been behind bars in the notorious Silverwood Women's Correctional Centre , home to some of Australia's most infamous female offenders.
In an Instagram post she is pictured lighting the candles on a bright blue cake adorned with plastic sea creatures and shells.
“My beautiful little angel loved his 8th Birthday cake I made him,” she wrote in her first public words since being released.
“He loves dolphins and the ocean like his Mummy does. My kids are my heart, my everything infinity and beyond, starting at forever and ending at never.
“I will never live my best life without my kids because they are the best part of my life.”
Daisley has been charged with four counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child.
Police allege the successful entrepreneur engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with the boy on four occasions in a single day during May 2021.
Investigators have revealed they will rely on legal phone taps which allegedly heard Daisley admitting to some of the offences.
She then allegedly told the boy to stay quiet about the alleged intercourse, which she claimed was a one-off, during one tapped call.
Daisley had begged to be released from jail because her company is losing money.
She claimed her mental health is suffering in her grimy cell, and her successful detox business is losing "millions of dollars" while she remains locked up.
The celeb weight loss guru and daughter of famous horse breeder Ross Daisley was allegedly highly intoxicated at the time of the offences.
She has indicated she intends to plead not guilty to all four charges and strongly denies the charges against her.
Daisley previously swapped her £5.6million mansion on Sydney's waterfront for a prison cell.
The lifestyle entrepreneur, who has some 40,000 followers on Instagram, founded her detox firm Smart Cleanse in 2014.
It promised a 14-day program that helps clients reduce stress, lose weight and "reverse ageing".
As well as the program, she went on to launch a Smart Cleanse cooking channel, detox book and digital courses.
A number of celebs began to swear by her program, including Neighbours star Jodi Gordan, who featured in a video promotion for the company in June last year.
Ross Daisley is a famous breeder of the thoroughbred racehorse Choisir, which became an international champion after winning at the prestigious Royal Ascot and Newmarket races in 2003.

U.S. law on age of consent to sexual activity

^ An exception to the age of consent is that if a person in a "position of authority" (full-time, permanent employee) engages in any sexual contact with any minor under age 18 or victim specified above, that constitutes a sexual offense in the fourth degree . [173]

^ In Maryland, sexual offense (1st & 2nd degree) and rape (1st & 2nd degree) carry the same penalty. The distinction is that a rape involves vaginal intercourse.
