$120,000 Funding for African Innovators Tackling Plastic Waste

OceanHub Africa, with support from The Coca-Cola Foundation, is inviting African scientists, researchers, startups, and early-stage companies to apply for the Plastic Waste Innovation Initiative 2026. This program supports ventures developing practical and scalable solutions to reduce, reuse, recycle, or replace plastic across its lifecycle. Participants will receive staged financial support, technical guidance, and operational mentoring to help take their solutions from idea to market.

The initiative offers three funding phases. Grant 1 CAPEX provides up to $20,000 for equipment and setup. Grant 2 Operations and Pilot provides up to $20,000 for operational and pilot phase support. Grant 3 Commercialization provides $80,000 repayable grant for scaling a validated solution. This opportunity is designed for impact-driven innovators committed to making a tangible difference in plastic pollution across Africa.
