Герой фильма – успешный писатель, но в глубочайшей депрессии из-за смерти жены и сына. Получив известие о болезни отца, он отправляется в Испанию. Там, в дождливой и мрачной Барселоне, его начинают одолевать видения и совпадения во сне и наяву - «11-11-11» стучит в его сердце. Странные существа бубнят что-то вроде: «Активировать 11-11 значит открыть Врата 11-11». Они пытаются донести до героя простую мысль: 11.11.11 произойдет некое событие, информация о котором зашифрована в молитвенных книгах разных религий мира. А именно: 11 райских врат откроются 11 ноября 2011 года на 49 минут. Почему будет именно так? А почему фамилия героя (Crone), преследуемого настырной компанией демонов – переводится с английского как старуха или старая карга? Почему его подружка утверждает, что 11 лет назад герой обещал на ней жениться? Почему сумасшедший прихожанин стреляет в героя, если ему надо было убить брата? И почему сюжет картины так сильно напоминает «Ребенка Розмари»? Наверное, чтобы ответить на все эти вопросы, вам таки придется посмотреть фильм.

У писателя Джозефа Кроуна в огне пожара погибают жена и ребёнок. Сам он попал в аварию, однако не пострадал. Как смерть близких, так и авария происходят в 11-11. Путешествие на родину в Испанию (отец главного героя, священник, при смерти, брат – инвалид) окончательно погружает писателя в готическую реальность часовен и кладбищ, предзнаменований и видений, ангелов и демонов, умирания и увядания, отчуждённости и отчаяния.
Мир Джозефа переворачивается, ему, убеждённому атеисту, приходится признать, что во Вселенной действуют могущественные потусторонние силы, что преследующее его число 11 – не череда совпадений, а указание на то, что 11 ноября 2011 г. в 23-11 должно совершиться нечто необратимое.
На проповеди один из прихожан выхватывает пистолет и, угрожая проповеднику, говорит нечто бессвязное, загадочное. Джозеф узнаёт, что этот прихожанин – постоянный клиент оккультной лавки и адепт странного культа. Знакомство с запретной литературой окончательно убеждает писателя, что на него возложена Миссия, связанная с его младшим братом.
Однако он не предполагает, что за благообразным обликом прикованного к инвалидной коляске священника скрывается посланник Тёмных сил. Его же роль в этой истории – послужить агнцем на заклание. И, когда он это поймёт, будет уже слишком поздно: кровь пролита, жертва принесена, а его смерть открыла силам Зла путь в наш мир.
Не знаю как кому, но мне фильм понравился. Вот что-то в нём есть такое, что напоминает моменты происходящие в реальной жизни, и к стати хочу выразить своё мнения по-поводу критики к фильму, Ребята НА ВКУС И ЦВЕТ ТОВАРИЩА НЕТ. quot;Всем приятного просмотраquot;.....
отстой редкостный. смотрел его в кинотеатре, думал что-то стоящее, а окозалось шляпа еще та.
вообще не понравилось.одно из самых дебильных фильмов которые я видел.
Норм фильм такой, только концовку не очень понял
А я люблю ужасы. Кому не нравится пусть не смотрит. Мне лично очень понравился фильм. И сюжет есть, и снято хорошо. Ну да, если у кого-то плохие слабые нервы, пусть пойдет перед просмотром к психоневрологу.
Число 11 является одним из важнейших в западной алхимии, Каббале и оккультных науках в целом. С ним связывается так называемый Magnum Оpus («Великое Делание»): создание Философского камня, превращающего свинец в золото и дарующего адепту бессмертие.
Фамилия главного героя – Кроун – напоминает английское слово «ворон»; эта птица является эмблемой первой фазы «Великого Делания», «Нигредо», в ходе которой адепт, переживая страдание, усмиряет демонов. Если справится с ними, конечно.
Имя брата главного героя (священника, читающего проповеди о том, что «грешить – это нормально») – Самуэль – схоже с именем Князя Ада – Самаэль.
Брат главного героя критикует мистическую нумерологию, приводя несуществующие цитаты из Книги Левита и Посланий.
