Find the small hole that houses the backup or emergency ignition key made of steel. Insert the blade of a screwdriver, or prybar tool into the slot and then gently pull the rear of the fob. Once the fob is opened you can locate the CR2032 3V battery and remove it. Replace the battery and snap back the fob.
Note: Older Volvos have a different battery one called the CR2025. volvo excavator key are 7 tenths of a millimeter less than a CR2032 battery, which means you'll need to be extra careful when placing the battery of the replacement.
