11 Strategies To Completely Redesign Your Robot Vac
Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Find one that has good navigation, can sweep corners and stairs, and has a large dust bin that requires emptying only every few times.
There are models that clean and charge on their own This feature could be beneficial for those with children or pets. The top performers in our tests offer decent obstacle-avoiding capabilities.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dustbin of the robot after it has filled up.
Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and are able to maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we test the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes around three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and is equipped with the most recent features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After connecting, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households, but it also fits in well next to a coffee table or on the bookshelf, where you can wave it around like an enchanted tool.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense Lithium-ion battery, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task that is being completed. It quickly converts from handheld to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments and an wand clip. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its short run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. It's still enough time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to clean every spot (though an additional run-through often will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable model that's a great choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower costs for recurring expenses, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better navigate itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter the suction power mode by hand and comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and is more effective on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name that is seen on a variety of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're one of the most popular mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides a range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings, and many more. It's easy to understand and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be washed to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with self-emptying clean stations, which helps keep the bin clean and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for hard floors and carpets, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. The robots come with an extra-wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X bigger than the competitors. This lets them clean the area for a longer period of time. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers to clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's collecting surface dirt or embedded dirt. best robot hoover includes a smart application that lets you see the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the vacuum's battery status and then return it to its dock for charging by pressing a button. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.
The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some other robots. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as an incline. Also, the ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
