Success Rate

Upgrades to items are based on the chance of success, and as with every random system, there's the possibility that the upgrade won't be successful. Another way to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding is by using an item called the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item can be useful in the event that your item or weapon is close to or has reached the maximum level of its tier. It will let you upgrade the equipment to the next level without having to worry about it breaking.

If an upgrade fails the upgrade will be reversed to its original state. This is typically a downgrade, but can also be an upgrade. It is recommended to save an upgrade for when you are close to the highest level of an item, and then use it as an emergency.

To carry out a normal upgrade, you must first have the right number of cores. Click the button next the item you wish to upgrade after you have the cores. The upgrade window will then display a percent indicator of your odds of success. The percentage is based on the upgrade level of the item and the core type you have chosen.
