10 Things We Do Not Like About Toto Asia

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto believed that North America as a growth market for Washlet's bidets and toilets, as opposed to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words so that the next generation could read them. However, many of the words were replaced with foreign ones, like dui from Bengali for verandah.

Origins

Toto's early history, which began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's rapid economic growth. In the first half of 1917, Toto made products to meet the demands for modern, new urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the country that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and a more consistent production.

The company began expanding its operations overseas in the latter part of the 1980s to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company created the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other products of other manufacturers in order to expand its range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy helped increase sales and expand the firm’s global market share.

In the 90s, Toto began to concentrate on research and development of water-related appliances. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve the needs of customers and to increase profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to supply chain management and applied the same methodology for its sales process. This resulted in a greater degree of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent in the toilet technology. The latest toilet, for example, has a strong tornado flush that is more ecologically green than traditional toilets. Toto also makes use of recycled water in its production process and has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than typical models.

The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It has exhibitions on Toto's most famous products as well as their evolution, group companies (all of which are made of ceramics) and the history of plumbing, and products such as bath units. In another gallery, visitors can see Toto products sold all over. The museum even has a bathroom that includes a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.

Before forming Toto members of the group did session work for various musicians. 스포츠토토 featured keyboardist David Paich as well as guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also performed on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name as evocative as Asia you'd expect the group to be prog queens and kings but they're actually a pretty straight forward rock group. The band began as four members and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a wide range of musical backgrounds, their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a huge blockbuster, but it was not without its problems. Record companies put the band on position with the order "give us a hit record or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on them to meet the deadline. Toto was able to do this feat with the help of the smash hit "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their previous experience, as the band members had been session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts before starting the group. Their sonic signature has become the norm for '80s pop, and has influenced many modern artists.

The album opens up hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR tunes that slowly get into your head. The album also contains more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and distorted AOR that could sound completely wrong but actually works very well.

After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band was through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the group in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the band continued as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It was not as well-liked as IV. However, the band still had a successful chart-topping album in the year 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an ode to the classic sextet structure, and a more consistent, stronger album with a sharper edge. Its edgier sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability on the drums and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard playing was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous recordings.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album followed a few months later, and the group went on a long-distance tour in support of the album. During this period, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started searching through old demos and tapes in search of a new record featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was released as a double-album titled Then And Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain one single track titled "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was an uncommercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that restricted his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes and the other members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the band. The group, which was missing Howe who was busy with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
