GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Like the name suggests, the GE Profile series is targeted at those who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies in their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with them all including the Keurig K cup coffee maker in the door to a smart dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is a premium, I expect higher quality.
Aside from that blip the fridge is a great option. It comes with a huge freezer compartment, which is uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen foods as compared to similar models.
The fridge has 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It has a decent sized icemaker in the left door. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.
You can alter the shelves in both compartments for an individual storage solution. The GE PYE22PYNFS's interior design is attractive, too. The LED lighting adds a nice accent. The in-door storage bins come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little hard on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a complete set of features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place across the globe. french door fridge freezer has many options for customization. It also gives you notifications when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.
It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in a handful of other GE refrigerators that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. The fridge displays a countdown to show you how much water is left, but it's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

This fridge was rated the best in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0°F and never changed more than a fraction - this is crucial to prevent freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.
Bosch has a reputation for top-of-the-line appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app lets you monitor and control your fridge remotely from your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is pricey, but offers great features and functionality at a fair price.
While the fridge is an incredible appliance however, it is important to understand the limitations. It has a limited shelf space, so you'll require some creativity when storing tall items. Additionally the shelves aren't completely sprillproof, and can easily be stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they should be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage into a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features the standard French door design, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give tall items more room. There's also a full-width drawer to store food items and an internal water dispenser.
One of the nice features of this refrigerator is that the ice maker is in the freezer, making it simple to move frozen ice to the fridge to be used when it is needed. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you better organize the placement of your items. It also has a huge bin that holds plenty of frozen food items and an container for storing ice.
Smart InstaView panel is another cool feature of the refrigerator. It allows you to control the temperature of your fridge, lighting, and more using your smartphone. It's a simple method to monitor your refrigerator and control it, especially when not at home.
The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't improve the performance of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill food in this refrigerator than some of the others we tested. This is likely due to the larger capacity.
The doors are a different issue with this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front that allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to pull closed without slamming them. It would have been more effective if they had handles mounted on the front.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the advantages of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with an efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a great layout. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't cost a fortune, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It's a basic fridge that may not be as eye-catching as its rivals, but it still has enough features to make a an excellent choice. Its main feature is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent Ice machine that is fast.
Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. The drawer lets you redirect a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power into the area so that you can store foods which need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.
During my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite be among the top in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It does a great job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
