Ashley, who is from Oakland, CA, made her MTV debut on Teen Mom: Young + Pregnant, which documented the birth of her now four-year-old daughter, Holly, and her explosive on-and-off relationship with her now husband, Bar. Ashley and Bar initially planned to get married during her pregnancy, but they called off their engagement on Season 1 of Young + Pregnant. Committed to giving Holly the best life possible, Ashley pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. Bar's lack of drive split him and Ashley apart for a while, but now they're back together and better than ever. After Bar got his GED, he decided it was time to step up and propose to Ashley again -- to which she said yes. The couple got married, but things are far from happily ever after. Communication issues and Bar's legal troubles weigh heavily on the family, and Ashley contemplates if it's worth sticking it out or if it's time to consider the D-word.
Briana lives with her strong-willed mother, Roxanne, and her opinionated sister, Brittany, in sunny Orlando, FL. In high school, Briana became pregnant with daughter Nova and struggled to navigate parenthood with Nova's father, Devoin. When Nova was six, Briana met DJ Luis and became pregnant again, and baby girl Stella was born. Luis was not around for his daughter, and Briana had a sense of déjà vu after going through the same thing with Devoin. But as Devoin steps up for both Nova and Stella, Briana must reckon with Luis's absence once again -- even when Stella has a medical emergency. In matters of love, Briana is engaged to the tough but soft-spoken Javi, but she struggles with whether she wants to get married. And when his jealousy rears up after she goes on Kail Lowry's ex Chris's podcast, it could be the end -- not to mention the beginning of a nasty court battle with Kail.
Jade started her Teen Mom journey on Teen Mom: Young + Pregnant after having her daughter, Kloie, with boyfriend Sean. Their on-again, off-again romance was hard on Jade, especially when Sean's substance use disorder threatened to destroy their family. Jade persevered and graduated from beauty school and opened her own salon, which she plans to expand. As Sean's struggles with addiction resurface, he decides to get treatment, leaving Jade to be a single parent while juggling her salon, buying a new house, managing a relationship with her mom -- who is facing jail time -- and supporting Sean during his recovery. Will Jade be able to finally give Kloie the stability she never had as a child, or will the mounting pressure be too much to bear?
Kail is a motivated and independent mother from a small town in Pennsylvania. As a teen, she moved in with her boyfriend Jo after becoming pregnant with Isaac, but their fighting ended the relationship. Kail eventually met Javi, a military man, and the two quickly married. Kail then gave birth to baby Lincoln, but while Javi was deployed, rumors of cheating on both sides plagued their marriage, leading to divorce. Kail then fell hard for Chris and gave birth to her third son, Lux. After Kail had Lux, Chris was in and out of their lives, but she became pregnant by him once again, giving birth to baby boy Creed. Burned by Chris in the past, Kail has vowed to be a single mother of four. As Kail shakes things up between castmates and files a lawsuit against Briana Dejesus, she learns that Chris is participating in the series. After threatening to stop filming, she ultimately returns, but must navigate Chris having a third baby with another woman, as well as her hot-and-cold relationship with ex-husband Javi.
Former cheerleader Leah had her twins, Ali and Aleeah Grace, when she was just 17 years old. From a small town in West Virginia, Leah sacrificed a lot for her kids, and things got even harder when Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Leah tried to make things work for her daughters by marrying their dad, Corey, but they divorced six months later. Leah moved on to her second husband, Jeremy, with whom she had daughter Adalynn, but Jeremy's job forced him to be away for long stretches of time, and he eventually filed for divorce. After a few rough years, Leah's co-parenting relationships with both dads are finally in a good place. And after years of working on herself and owning her past substance use disorder, Leah is ready to try love again with her new boyfriend Jaylan. On top of navigating a new relationship with three daughters, Leah and Jaylan -- who lives eight hours away -- struggle to get to know each other while dating long-distance. When Jaylan is finally able to move closer, will their dynamic change?

Motherhood. It’s exhausting, inspiring, soul-sucking and purpose-giving. It makes you question everything, while also feeling like you know it all.
What is motherhood? We asked mothers to define it in 100 words or fewer. Here are some of our favorite responses.
My daughter was born almost three months early. Time she should have spent curled up, protected, inside, was spent outside, in an incubator. She came home, grew and thrived, and became a cuddler. Sometimes she smashes herself against me; other times she extends a hand or foot for a light connection. I don’t want her to remember fights over shoes, or empty threats I made in frustration, or the disappointments of being young. I want her to remember the feeling of pressing her back against my chest, or climbing into my lap, and, for a little bit, being totally protected.

It’s the ultimate roller coaster of joy and sorrow, comfort and fear, love and hate, fast and slow, past and future.
She is a mother. She is vulnerable (just hurt her child, and you’ll see) and she is strong (just hurt her child, and you’ll see). She has been elevated (she is Mom) and she has been demeaned (she is just a mom). She is full (loving a child so completely will do that to you) and she is empty (loving a child so completely will do that to you). Who says she can’t have it all? She has everything.
I’d like to tell you what motherhood means to me, except it’s challenging to sit at my desk while my pockets are full of rocks.
In the four years I have spent as a mom, that’s what I’ve become: I am the rock holder. My pockets are heavy with rocks. Rocks sag in my backpack. They clunk in my coat.
My son finds these rocks and urges me to have them, slips them into my good purse, sweetens the deal with crumbling leaves, an array of sticks, wildflowers, the occasional cicada shell.
He gives me the world. Or tries to.
Life before my son was kinetic. I was a doer, rushing from one event to the next. Nights are different now. After daycare pick-up, time slows as we meander home. “Blue car,” I say, pointing, and he puts his index finger in the air. “Yellow daffodil,” I tell him as we pass a manicured garden. “Babababa,” he replies, pulling off his sock. Later, I sit on the floor of the living room watching him cruise on the furniture while hugging his stuffed donkey. If you asked me what I did each night, my old self might reply, “nothing much,” but now it feels like everything.
Motherhood is the ache I feel in my chest when my son can’t see the flock of birds that just flew overhead. It is the vintage Valentine in April that his brother, who is not blind, and who can walk and talk, brings home to me from his trip to Hawaii. It is slipping out of my younger son’s hospital bed, careful not to wake him, and returning home to be with his brother, who tells me about the girl he likes. It is the certainty with which I love them both.
Foster parenting has been the most challenging experience of my life. The uncertainty, the courtrooms, the restrictions, the tears—hers and mine.
Every day I think, I can’t do this.
Every day I think, There’s nothing I’d rather do.
Loving this child who isn’t biologically mine is effortless; it’s love that came immediately, and has become indestructible.
Yesterday, she hugged me so tightly and I hugged her back, so tightly, and in that moment, I felt indescribable gratitude for the woman who brought her into the world. For in her own way, she is magic too.
For the one weekend I’m gone all year , their dad pulled out all the stops. One hike led them along a boardwalk to a cave. Another up a mountain to a hazy view of the city. No time for the movies because of the biking and scootering adventure, then dinner out, then off to the greasy spoon for classic sundaes. They’d had even better a weekend than we’d hoped, but in school on Monday morning my kindergartener drew his Weekend News as nothing but a blurry, boxy composite of himself and me above the words: “Mommy came home.”
I didn’t find out the sex. It was an insignificant fact that didn’t define a new human. I wanted to learn all about my child only after they were born.
Today, my child–whom I would refer to as my son–went to school wearing a dress. I may have knit this child together, woven them through with parts of myself. But this person wasn’t born completely formed, like I once thought. I may still sew them up from time to time, but they’ve taken over the shaping. There’s still so much to discover.
Motherhood is like that one dream you had when you were 16 where you have this big test at school in history. You study for weeks about the American Revolution, but when you get to your chair you find out that the test was actually in math. So now you’re stuck trying to figure out the square root of an elephant multiplied by the weight of a neutron star and it isn’t until after the test is over that you find out the answer was Purple.

Mom has plenty of funny moments, but what makes the top 10 list on funniest episodes?
Mom is just about to enter its seventh season come its September 26th premiere date. Starring Allison Janney and Anna Faris as a dysfunctional mother and daughter duo, the series has covered their journey from recovering alcoholics to repairing their relationships with one another and basically everyone else. They're not perfect but they certainly earn awards for trying. Over the last six seasons, they've made us laugh with their antics plenty a time. We're taking a moment to narrow down some especially funny episodes, which is no easy feat when it comes to a show as funny as this one. That said, here are 10 of Mom 's funniest episodes, ranked.
Bonnie and Christy are swept up into the life of high society when the woman Christy is sponsoring, Jill (Jaime Pressley) asks for their company. From there, everything spirals into luxurious gift-giving, a good highlight for a change when it comes to the uneven and oftentimes unstable lives of Bonnie and Christy. What makes this particular episode funny is the relatable moment of showing off: Christy and Bonnie model their fancy new outfits as they strut into an AA meeting. If you've got it, why not flaunt it? It's more fun to show up to any gathering in style--as long as you don't get too carried away.
This episode finds Bonnie and Christy in a fix when they take Bonnie's brother's fancy car out for a joy ride. Having been suspicious of her brother being up to something earlier in the episode, Bonnie's suspicions are confirmed when Christy finds substances and marijuana in the glove compartment of the car--right as they're pulled over by an officer for a burned-out taillight!
We have to laugh at their unfortunate debacle as they try to act cool (especially in the moments where Christy is unsure of where the drugs ended up when she hid them). Not only that, but we loved watching the two enjoy their joy ride in the Mercedes while listening to the radio--how many of us can say we haven't done that at one time or another?
The funniest element of this episode is Bonnie's attempts at hiding her past relationship with Jeanine (Rosie O'Donnell) from her boyfriend Adam (William Fichtner). Bonnie and Christy cross paths with Jeanine when she speaks at one of their AA meetings, and the episode takes off from there. While Christy struggles with whether or not she should quit school and take Jeanine up on her offer of working at her real estate firm, Bonnie fields questions from Adam about her relationship with Jeanine. Adam fishes for details and seems amused at continuously throwing Bonnie off-guard, much to Bonnie's chagrin (which of course we enjoy watching the two of them do in any episode).
Homeless Christy and Bonnie, alongside Christy's kids, finally find a home with an amazing discount out in the country. Trouble is, there's a string attached: the house comes with a history of a triple homicide. At first thinking they can move past it, Christy and Bonnie soon find that they're too terrified to stay in the house of horrors and run back to Marjorie's (Mimi Kennedy) house, where they were previously staying.
The ironic thing is that it was Marjorie masquerading as the serial killer in the window to get them to come back to her house as she missed their company. What they don't know won't kill them.
Candace (Sara Rue), newly engaged to Christy's ex Baxter (Matt Jones) arranges a fancy lunch at a golf club with Christy and Bonnie to better the friction between them for the sake of Christy and Baxter's son. Just when things seem to be coming along, Candace's and Christy's relationship turns icy once more when Candace's wealthy father takes an interest in Christy. Bonnie highly encourages Christy to go after him for his money (especially since she just ruined a Neiman Marcus dress that she can't afford) and an initially reluctant Christy complies. Funny thing is, she actually likes him, much to Candace's horror and Bonnie's joy.
The fun continues in the next episode when Candace shows up to Christy's and Bonnie's home drunk in the middle of the night declaring her distaste for Christy's relationship with her father. While Christy and Bonnie make fun of her in her drunken state, Christy also acknowledges why Candace can't stand Christy's relationship with her father and saves Candace from having her eyebrows shaved off courtesy of Bonnie. Baxter later shows up looking for Candace and begging Christy to stop dating his soon to be father-in-law, even offering her a bribe.
Turns out, Christy doesn't like how her new beau treats his daughter and dumps him, to which Candace smugly says it was only a matter of time before her father moved on. Christy lets this go, as she understands why Candace is as mean as she is, while Bonnie grieves for her lost fortune and her "people."
Still reeling from the death of Alvin (Kevin Pollak), her boyfriend and the father of Christy, Bonnie takes drastic measures to keep him in her life. Grief affects all in different ways, but Bonnie takes it up a notch when she breaks into the home of Alvin's ex-wife to retrieve his ashes and refuses to let go of them. Christy, wanting to do the right thing, substitutes her father's ashes with kitty litter to fool her mother and returns them. It's given that Alvin's ex-wife was being cold-hearted, so perhaps Bonnie was right in taking Alvin off her hands just for a little while. If nothing else, Bonnie's antics in this episode were nothing short of hilarious.
When Bonnie takes a fall in the shower, chaos ensues. First, she and Christy face temptation when Bonnie is prescribed pain medication for her injured back. Then, when Bonnie receives a new dose of said pain medication, she becomes completely loopy.
This episode highlights some of Bonnie's funniest moments as she engages in illogical conversation with a nonexistent pair of missionaries. Well, there have been worse drug-induced fantasies, scenarios or situations otherwise.
Crazy, insane, outrageous--also known as another day in the life of the Plunketts. Concerned that Bonnie isn't coping with Alvin's death, Christy tricks her into going to therapy. The therapist himself is young and clearly has issues of his own (especially where it concerns his grandmother). Then, Bonnie turns the tables and Christy winds up being the subject and is tasked with drawing her feelings. While Bonnie tries to make another man into Alvin, Christy repeatedly uses her disturbing drawing of a scary face to express her feelings on Bonnie's ideas throughout the episode (especially when it comes to dating a man that Bonnie believes is her next Alvin). To sum up the episode in a word: hysterical.
Without a doubt, the funniest episode of the series is when Bonnie snags some of Adam's cookies that, unknown to her, contain pot. She shares them with Christy, and later their friends Jill and Wendy (Beth Hall) as well. The four of them unknowingly ge
