10 Locations Where You Can Find Three Wheeled Buggies

Three Wheeled Buggies

If you're seeking a buggy to run around in or a nifty stroller to tackle strolls around the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies provide great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre even in tight spaces.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram with air-filled tyres and look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. They are prone, however to punctures. Make sure you have an emergency repair kit.

Sturdy frame

The latest figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled vehicle - a symbol of the noughties of more money than sense is in a decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easy to drive, while also looking fashionable.

The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to deal with rough ground and bumpy pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear allow you to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or in difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the buggy out with the newborn baby and a toddler and found it extremely robust. It was able to handle grass, cobbles and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said "it feels sturdy to push and is very stable when going over difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable so need occasional pumping) offer built-in suspension that was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to take into consideration is the size and shape. You want the seat to be large enough to allow your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat that allows the child to face you, while others only allow a parent-facing one.

The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or wet walks. This buggy is suitable for a single child as early as birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for babies and toddlers from age four and includes a bumper bar, raincover, an improved 5-point harness and a spacious cushioned seat unit. Storage options are also good with a large basket, zip pockets on the hood and a handy pouch at the rear of seat unit.

Wheels with larger diameter

Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability while driving over rough terrain. This is ideal for buggies that are off-road. They also help you move the pushchair around tight spaces. Some three-wheeled buggies feature rotating wheels on the front to help you navigate tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock for increased speed and stability. This is also helpful when you crash into an unintentional tree root or road, as the front wheel can be lifted up slightly to prevent you from hitting it.

A majority of 3 wheel pushchairs come with air filled tyres which means they can be used on a variety of terrains and are far more flexible than 4-wheeler. They are also lighter. However, they are prone to punctures so you'll need to keep a repair kit, spare tube and pump in your bag.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. These buggies, as per MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which according to her "perform well on gravel roads, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to go up or down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that in her words "smoothes out bumps very effectively".

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide, and can be difficult to fit into narrow spaces. This is an issue when you're using it for an exercise bike or to be able to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and about. The majority of models come with compact folding options, which permit you to take off the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.

Easy to maneuver

A three-wheel buggy can be more comfortable to drive with a child. The way in which they are built means that the front wheels turn at a quick pace and are incredibly maneuverable and are ideal for difficult terrain like cobbles, parks, bumpy pavements and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her infant and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough ground and the swivel front wheel being particularly helpful. I was also impressed with how well it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it extremely stable when going downhill or over uneven ground."

The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you should keep in mind when your home is an urban area. If this is a problem then a 4-wheeler might be a better option for you.

Bumper bar

Bumper bars are the perfect way to protect your child from scrapes and bumps while out and about. These bumper bars are easy to put in place and will make your child feel safe and secure out and about.

This bumper bar was designed to complement the sleek lines on your Slim Twin stroller. It comes with a soft, padded surface that provides a comfortable surface for your child to grab onto while walking. The sturdy construction and durable design will ensure that your child will be able to enjoy strolling through the city without worrying about falling or leaning forward.

The sling seat made of fabric sits in the frame, snugly rather than on top of it like modular seats do, providing the lowest center of gravity at the appropriate height for your baby and also delivering an excellent weight distribution to facilitate kerb pop (it requires less effort to push the buggy up and over the curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath said it was great on grass and cobbles. It's also a good option for running with its air-filled tyres as well as a lockable swivel wheel.

With a stylish and sophisticated appearance This bumper bar is sure to draw attention wherever you go. It's available in a range of finishes and colours to fit your personal style. The bumper bar can be easily removed and put in place by the quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is also easy to clean as it is constructed from strong materials. This makes it a great choice for families who want a safe and stylish accessory for their stroller.

Comfort

A 3-wheel buggy offers the best in maneuverability and performance when you go off-road. This type of buggy is easy to steer and turn on a dime with its perfect geometry, engineering, and weight distribution.

The sport's clever design puts the fabric sling seat inside the frame, not over it like modular seats. This allows it to have lower center of gravity, which means it is easier to push, has a lighter curb-pop (you won't need to exert much effort to push the buggy's hood over a curb), and offers more stability and balance. And with the huge rear wheels measuring 16 inches, lockable swivel front wheel and air filled tyres that only require occasional pumping, you get a bump free ride over rough terrain, and a smoother more comfortable jog too.

As the only all-terrain pushchair in our collection that comes with a seat for parents that can also be used as a car seat or carrycot to ensure the future of your family and enjoy every adventure from day dot and for years to come in the footprint of a single buggy!

Kath who was our MFM reviewer, also appreciated the space of this buggy. There's a huge easy-to-access basket that's surprisingly roomy for such a small buggy, plus there's an easy-to-use pouch that zips up at the back of the seat unit and two smaller mesh pockets in the hood to store your keys and phone.
