Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrades can increase the performance of a piece of gear and sometimes even its extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements, and how many random augmentations are applied.
The racial Shield elite Razortail, for example, is frequently upgraded to enhance its lightning absorption capabilities in PvP or provide additional defenses to missile-based builds in the PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens are a way to reroll an acquired item, such as armor, weapon or rings. This swaps the current item for a different one similar item with a different set of extra bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective method to upgrade equipment. They don't preserve the original level of the item, and any resources wasted aren't rewarded.
Survivors may acquire reroll tokens via a variety of methods, including from the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They can also be found in crates and chests, or purchased at the local store for 150k each. Reroll tokens can be used to alter the attributes of the equipment that could include increasing its damage or granting it a brand new stat.
Players can reroll their equipment into three aspects three categories: physical power, magic power, and health. Physical power upgrades increase the damage caused by weapons and melee attacks, while spell power improves mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional amount of health.
Three types of reroll tokens are available in three categories: upgrade rare and legendary. Each upgrade elevates an item to a better quality, with the requirement of a higher-quality reroll token order to produce it. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, while rare upgrades require a special or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.
The reroll marker, unlike other markers or tokens that are placed on action areas, stays on the spot until the next Success is being rerolled. This lets you avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. When they are opened, they will display an image and description of the appliance or ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's shop for the amount of coins.
In the course of a run, blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool based on chosen Franchise Cards. This changes the blueprints that the restaurant's shop has available for rerolls, and those that are in the non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and accessories. These stones are special stones that increase the level of an item by increasing its stats or characteristics. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. They can also purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a price. Additionally, players can acquire these stones by signing daily contracts.
To upgrade gear, the player must first locate the item then click the "level up button". The menu will be displayed that shows the item's current status and what it will be after being upgraded, along with the required amount of Growth Stones to accomplish this. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Typically rare (blue) weapons require more than one green Growth Stone to reach their next level, whereas uncommon armor requires only one blue or green Growth Stone.
After deciding on the item to upgrade the player must select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. Once the player has met the requirements, he can click the upgrade button and apply the Growth Stones. This will raise the item's level by a certain percentage. Depending on the item's rarity the upgrade process can take anywhere from seconds to minutes.
The upgrade process also is risk-free, and does not affect the item's longevity. This is an excellent option for players who wish to get an edge in battle, but don't want to spend a lot of money. Clicking on the "transfer tab", players can also transfer their experience and progress of an upgraded item to a new piece of gear.
For new players, it can be difficult to acquire Growth Stones. There are a variety of ways to acquire them, including signing contracts and buying them from the Contract Coin Merchant, defeating Abyssal Contract enemies, collecting them from the Equipment Stone Seal Book, or obtaining them from reward chests that are available during the Ancient Arena season. Additionally players can also take apart the higher-level Growth Stones to create multiple lower-level ones.
Leveling
Leveling is a feature that allows players to increase the base stats of weapons armor, helms and trinkets. The Upgrade Station lets you combine an item with upgrade materials, and pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The process will consume upgrade materials and grant the item an upgrade level, giving the item an additional boost in that area. This process continues until the item reaches its maximum level.
Items with upgraded stats will be displayed as an icon of blue next to their slot. In contrast to enchantments, upgrade components cannot be stacked with each other, but can only be added to a single item at one time. Each upgrade component also requires a certain number of items as well as a certain equipment level.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can place an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right side, a preview shows what the gear looks like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow after is a player has enough resources will start the upgrading process.
A piece of gear can be upgraded a maximum of five times. Each time the item is upgraded, its base stats will increase by a small percentage. The highest level for an item is 19.
When an item reaches its highest level, upgrades are no longer available for it. Once a piece of equipment reaches a specific upgrade track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track will be discounted.
Upgrade components are a form of equipment that can be slotted into armor, weapons trinkets and gathering tools to provide an additional bonus or effect when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, looted or obtained by completing quests, or traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, but doing so will destroy the previous upgrade, except for glyphs which can be removed and replaced at will.
Requirements
Items upgrades enable players to increase the stats of certain armors and weapons they already have equipped. The requirements for upgrading an item differ depending on the type of item however, you'll usually require Dilithium and a number Upgrade Tokens.
Items can be upgraded by adding upgrade components to weapons and equipment. This will give them more effects or an improved item level. The upgrades can be acquired through a variety of sources in the game, including through crafting, bought at the Trading Post or karma vendors or looted from bosses and raids, or collected from dungeons. Once an upgrade component is inserted into an object, it is not able to be removed or replaced. However the glyphs can be swapped freely.
Upgrades can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity. Some upgrade components come with additional modifiers that can increase the item's statistics.
For example, the helm upgrade "Foundation of the Sun" boosts the base defense, and also gives an additional 20% chance to block. Additionally the dps upgrade "Wildfire" boosts weapon damage.
Certain items benefit from being upgraded less because of their improved stats, but more because it allows players to get the maximum amount of value from a perfect roll on the item. For instance, a flawlessly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and could be worth 20-50x the non-upp'd version.
The game will display the requirements once you choose the upgrade component that is incorporated into the item. These include the item type (either Armor or Weapon) and the level of the item as well as the upgrade Token required, as well as the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
