1 OCTOBER • TEACHERS AND MENTORS DAY
CYBER UNIVERSITY
RECTOR’S MESSAGE | 2026
Teachers lay a firm foundation for the future of New Uzbekistan
A message from Sh. Sh. Kayumov, Rector of Cyber University
Assalamu alaykum, dear teachers and mentors!
On behalf of the Cyber University community, I extend my warmest personal wishes to you on Teachers and Mentors Day, celebrated on 1 October.
This special day reflects our people’s deep respect for those who have devoted their lives to learning, to educating and guiding young people, and to the prosperity of our country. Their work shapes our nation’s strength today, its progress tomorrow and the lives of generations to come.
“New Uzbekistan begins at the school gates, with the way we educate and nurture our children.”
Shavkat Mirziyoyev
These words express a profound truth. The pace of New Uzbekistan’s development, its standing in the world and its scientific and technological strength depend, above all, on the knowledge, habits of thought and values cultivated in our classrooms. Alongside modern buildings and advanced technology, the foundations of the Third Renaissance are being laid by teachers who inspire young people to love learning, think independently and serve their country.
Today, our education system is entrusted with vital responsibilities: to provide education that meets international standards, introduce advanced teaching methods and digital technologies, prepare young people for modern professions, and instil patriotism, integrity and civic responsibility.
The greater the trust placed in teachers, the greater the responsibility they bear.
Every lesson lays the foundation for important decisions in the years ahead. Every piece of knowledge shared is an investment in our country’s progress. A teacher’s personal example is a powerful lesson in its own right, instilling professional integrity, discipline and a sense of commitment to their country in the younger generation.
As technology advances at an extraordinary pace, the role of educators is growing ever broader. In fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, cyber law and digital forensics, yesterday’s knowledge alone may no longer be enough to meet today’s complex challenges.
For this reason, Cyber University’s faculty members equip students with in-depth knowledge while teaching them to ask the right questions, verify evidence, understand complex systems, develop new solutions and recognise the full consequences of their professional decisions.
The young people studying in our classrooms today will become the professionals responsible for safeguarding government information systems, financial infrastructure, strategically important enterprises and the personal data of millions of citizens.
Their professional skills are honed in laboratories, their scientific thinking through research, and their integrity and devotion to their country through the example set by their teachers.
The digital shield of New Uzbekistan is built on deep knowledge, firm discipline, integrity and patriotism. Its strength depends directly on the quality of the education you provide today, the academic rigour you uphold and the example you set.
During his visit to Cyber University, the President said: “In the future, the need for specialists like you will be even greater.” These words express great confidence in our university community and set a high standard for our work.
That trust calls on us to educate knowledgeable professionals who think independently, understand threats in the digital world, take responsibility for their professional decisions and remain committed to our national interests.
Every lecture we deliver, every research study, laboratory session and practical project must serve this important goal.
Dear teachers,
Behind the great scientific advances in our history were teachers who awakened minds, opened the way to knowledge and nurtured exceptional talent. Today, you have the honour and responsibility of nurturing future scholars of the stature of al-Khwarizmi, al-Biruni, Ibn Sina and Ulugh Beg.
A teacher’s influence reaches far beyond a single classroom. It lives on in the technologies their students create, the information systems they protect, their scientific achievements and their contributions to society.
The most important work of building the future takes place in the classroom. You are the architects of that future.
Much of your demanding work goes unseen: preparing thoroughly for a lesson, patiently explaining a difficult concept once more, giving confidence to a student who doubts themselves, helping them correct a mistake and celebrating their success as you would that of your own child.
For your dedication, wisdom and the care you show your students, I offer you my deepest gratitude.
I wish you all good health, peace and happiness in your families, every success in your teaching and research, fresh ideas and the recognition you deserve. May your students’ growth, achievements and contributions to our country’s prosperity always bring you pride and joy.
May your homes be blessed with peace and prosperity, your confidence remain strong and your work bring you lasting fulfilment. May you continue for many years in your noble work of shaping the scientific, spiritual and digital future of New Uzbekistan!
Happy Teachers and Mentors Day to you all!
Sh. Sh. Kayumov
