If you are wondering what 8/1 means in betting you have come to the right place.
The 8 to 1 odds of an event happening is the likelihood or probability of that result. 8-1 odds are popular in football betting and for horse racing events in the UK and are a shade shorter than 9-1 odds in the betting market.
In our 8-1 horse racing betting odds guide, we explain what 8 to 1 odds mean?, what is the 8 to 1 probability and show you what a 8 to 1 odds payout would be.
8-1 Betting Odds means that out of 9 possible outcomes, the 8/1 odds are that there will be 8 of one kind of outcome and 1 of another kind of outcome.
The 8-1 odds calculation means for every 9 betting events your selection should win 1 time and on 8 occasions the selection will not win.
Here is a 8/1 odds calculator to work out the potential winnings of a 8-1 priced winner.
Here is the step-by-step guide on how to use the free online 5/4 odds calculator:
The 8-1 betting odds probability is an 88.89 per cent probability of a particular outcome and an 11.11 per cent probability of another outcome.
The 8/1 odds implied probability means your selection has an 11.11% chance of winning and an 88.89% chance the selection will lose.
The conversion of 8-1 odds to American Moneyline odds is 800.
Money line odds (aka “American” odds or “U.S.” odds) of 800 is the equivalent to 8-1 Fractional odds (aka “British” odds, “U.K.” odds, or “traditional” odds).
If you wager a bet on an 8/1 betting odds selection and you win, your total payout will be 9.00 which is your stake back plus 8.00 profit.
Here are some examples of 8-1 odds payouts:
8/1 odds are great because for every £1 winning bet you will return £8 profit.
The 8-1 odds reflect the chances of your selection and bookmakers will think it has a good chance at 8/1.
At 8-1 horse odds you could look to bet each way and still show a good profit if the selection is only placed.
Many punters ask if 8/1 odds good or bad and the boring answer is it depends on whether it is value for money in the betting market. A 8-1 winner is good odds and a 8/1 loser is bad odds.
8/1 fractional odds is 9 in decimal.
The fractional odds of 8 to 1 in decimals is 9.00 which means for every £1 win stake you get £9 returns if it wins.
When new customers sign up to UK bookmakers they usually receive a free bet welcome bonus.
If you are wondering how the 8/1 odds work when placing bets on sports betting markets with a free bet we can work out your winning bets potential outcomes.
When you have placed a qualifying bet to receive free bets it is worth understanding on any free bet wins you do not get your stake back.
If you have placed a bet on a 8-1 pick and it has won then we have an odds calculator you can use to work out your returns on a 8/1 winner.
The bet calculator allows you to work out winnings on some of the following bets where you might have a 8-1 shot in the bets:
When you are looking to place bets on the top-rated horse racing betting websites online or through your mobile phone on the best sportsbook betting apps if your selection is a 8-1 chance of winning you want to try and choose an online bookmaker offering BOG bonus in August 2022.
If you are looking to place a bet then understanding the betting odds market is important as you want to choose your picks based on the value in the betting ring.
Here are all the betting odds guides we have created at British Racecourses.
Many punters who understand the 8-1 odds and betting markets utilise the new sportsbook bookmaker bonus offers they give in opening new accounts and the bookies incentivise signing up with amazing horse racing free bets online .
We hope your 8 to 1 odds pick is a winning selection and please always gamble responsibly.

How to make a 1-8 bet spread look like 1-4 in Blackjack?

1-6 will not get the money on shoes unless you're using a strict Wonging strategy. Most players spread anywhere from 1-14 to 1-80 on shoes (1-16/1-20 tends to be a good sweet spot) with what's called a "White Rabbit" approach where you start at the shuffle and then change tables or sit out whenever you reach a predetermined exit point (usually around when the house has a 1.0% to 2.0% greater advantage against you. Even a 1-8 spread with no cover is not sufficient to beat a shoe game unless you're able to backcount and enter only in positive situations combined with abandoning the shoe when the count drops.

I recently began a DD game with $10 bets which was the min of the table. The count turned positive and I bet $50, which I held throughout the deal which stayed positive. I overheard the dealer alert the pit boss that I had jumped my bet 5 times. After the next shuffle I began betting $25. The count went north but not yet plus and I continued betting $25. When the count went plus I bet $75 and kept it there until the end where it was still positive. I won $75, actually $82.50 before I tipped the dealer $7.50 (call me crazy, but I had just eaten a food comp worth nearly $150 and I was in a good mood plus I wanted to ensure longevity at this place I like to play especially after hearing that dealer indicate that I might be counting). Was I spreading 5 times, 7 1/2 times, or 3 times? I'm not sure, but I would have returned to $10 if things had gone too far south.

Do you mean 3X for 3 hands? I've never seen 5X. It is a good strategy, and the one hand combines the cumulative amount bet on the three hands.

Grifter's Gambit is designed for well cut pitch games, particularly single deck. He used to like to use it at the Horseshoe in downtown Vegas where he'd play 3x$100 in minus counts and 1x$300 in plus counts. It does not work nearly as well in shoe games or double deck games (unless you're getting at least 75% pen on double deck and the rules are good but you'd need to spread more (like 3x$100 to 1x$800 or some such similar type spread).

I advise to "play" bets. Lets say u play 2-3 handed. U bet 1 unit 1-st box and 2 unit 2-nd box and vice versa. Sometimes when count is higher u can bet not 2*100 but for example 70 and 90 or so u look like gambler

Bet 2 hands of 1 $50 unit each off the top, say 2x50. If the count tanks bet 2x25 and then 1x25 if the count goes down more before wonging out. Top bet 2x200. Spread looks like 1-4 to a casual onlooker but in reality it is 1-16. Oops sorry, you wanted 1-8. I guess you can figure that out.

There is something I don't understand regarding bet spread require to beat shoe games. Maybe the experts here could help me out. What confuses me is when bigplayer said that 1-8 bet spread is not sufficient enough to beat shoes games but when I look at other references it indicates that a 1-8 bet spread is a winner. However, I don't always have CVCX with me. The time I don't have CVCX to simulate games I use the "Snyder Profit Index" to determine if the game is playable with a certain bet spread with respect to their penetration. I am sure the APs here know what is the Snyder Profit Index. Lets take an eight deck blackjack game for example with Atlantic City rules 8 deck S17, DAS 75% penetration. The index said playing heads up using a 1-8 bet spread the game score is 52. Anything above 50 is a winning game. Can anybody or Arnold tell me why this is so when most experts don't recommend a 1-8 bet spread for shoe games?

I am still working on the sims for CVCX.

In the current article we present the relative value of the semi-Wonging style of play, given a number of circumstances. All the numbers in the following tables are based on the betting units required and the dollar-denominated bet sizes, so that a player could operate to a risk of ruin of 5% by using a bankroll of $10 000.
One will not be able to use at a casino the precise betting units in the tables, but what he/she could do is to approximate the respective unit to the closest whole-dollar amount and modify his/her bankroll in an according manner. In the first table, the four-deck game with H17, DAS and 63% penetration level has a betting unit of $11.75 and 851 units required for a bet spread of 1-8 units. If one is to place $12 bets, then his/her bankroll should be $10 210, in order to maintain a risk of ruin of 5%. His/her expected profit will be $16.20 per 100 hands. This profit figure is calculated by dividing the earnings per hour ($15.86) by the unit size ($11.75) and multiplying the result by the unit one will use in actual play ($12). Or, (15.86 / 11.75) x 12 = $16.20.
The two tables above concern only four-deck games with the respective rules and penetration level. In this case we have the following:
1. For a bet spread of 1-4 units, the player should bet 0 units at all true counts below 0, 1 unit at all true counts equal to 0, 2 units at counts of +1, 3 units at counts of +2 and 4 units at counts of +3 or higher.
2. For a bet spread of 1-8 units, the player should bet 1 unit at a true count of 0, 1 unit at a count of +1, 2 units at a count of +2, 4 units at a count of +3 and 8 units at a count of +4 or higher.
The four tables above concern only six-deck games with the respective rules and penetration level. In this case we have the following:
1. For a bet spread of 1-4 units, the player should bet 0 units at all true counts below 0, 1 unit at all true counts equal to 0, 2 units at counts of +1, 3 units at counts of +2 and 4 units at counts of +3 or higher.
2. For a bet spread of 1-8 units, the player should bet 1 unit at a true count of 0, 2 units at a count of +1, 4 units at a count of +2, 8 units at a count of +3 or higher.
