I have seen "1/2-14 NPT female" words. What do they mean? Where I can get information about them on Internet?

The 3/4" NPT pipe thread has 14 threads per inch. Both the TPI and OD of the thread are required for positive identification of thread size because more than one size have the same TPI.

My husband and I are also both agnostic and get the same thing. Usually a bit offended that people think you can't have love and commitment without religion of some sort. If you couldn't have love and commitment without religion, then we wouldn't have legal marriages at courthouses. I've seen this said m'self, both on here, and in the news and in my life away from the internet, particularly in my small hometown where most people are white and largely Christian. People feel you can't have a meaningful marriage without God, to the point that some people won't even consider a marriage a true marriage if it wasn't in a church. It bothers me a fair bit that people believe this, as if people who don't have a religion can't feel love or aren't worthy of it, and it's just not true. I don't know why people say such rubbish, except perhaps they simply think religion is the only thing that counts. If it's not been said religiously, then it's a lie or "evil" or "wrong" and therefore, unworthy of being recognized. Love has nothing to do with religion. People love who they love and there's nothing religious about it. If it did, then it'd be safe to say that there would be less divorce amongst religious folks, would it not?
I believe that these are threads. female means that the threads are cut into the inside something, so that you can screw the same size male threads into it. 1/2" is the diameter of the hole that the threads are in. Npt is the thread type. 14 is 14 threads per inch.
Female means the other piece of pipe screws into it.
it is for Pipe Size and tapered connections
Female means it is the reciever of the connector -- the other piece of pipe screws into a female connector
Hi. It's a specification for pipe threads. The "1/2" is the I.D. I think, the "14" is the threads per inch. The thread tapers but I no longer have my "Machinist's Handbook" to tell you how much.
1/2" nominal size (diameter) pipe with 14 threads that are visible on the outside (female piece). this way the pipe will screw INTO another pipe fitting.

How do you review something like this? I guess it either works or it doesn't, and this works for what I needed.

There are many faucets for sale here on Amazon made overseas (many from a company called Light in the Box) where the spout has a "G Thread," also known as British Standard, which will not directly screw into a U.S. 1/2 inch threaded pipe due to a difference in thread pitch and taper, even though they are the same size. This adapter solves that issue. Well, almost. It does require a rubber washer to make a waterproof seal, so be prepared to visit your local hardware store before you can finish you faucet installation.

It's probable that my local big hardware stores had this adapter in stock, but my experience is that finding the right brass fitting in the store is an exercise in patience. And, helpful as they want to be, explaining an unusual situation to the staff results in a lot of wasted time and suggestions for other solutions that usually won't work. So, order this one and save some hassle.

I purchased a shower system (made in China) from another big online retailer and was surprised to learn that NPT threaded fittings are only used in the US and Canada. The rest of the world uses BSP (British Standard Pipe). Well I also learned that instructions translated from Chinese to English are not always crystal clear and so getting my new shower connected (there were 8 fittings) was a matter of trial and error because the shower diverter/mixer valves where parallel (BSPP) threaded and the devices (rainfall shower, waterfall, handheld) where BSPT (tapered). So I found these, which were perfect for my application, but again, due to poor instructions, it was a trial and error exercise figuring out what I needed. I ended up buying more adapters than I needed, and so I had to return what I didn't need. In the end, it all worked out, but next time, I'm buying an American brand (probably also made in China, but at least to US standards).

I purchased the G Thread (Metric BSP) 3/4" Female to NPT Thread 3/4" Male Pipe Fitting Adapter, after I discovered that the 15-mm-compression-to-BSP 3/4-in. adapter did not fit my NPT receptacle. I ordered the BSP adapter from the UK, thinking, mistakenly, that 3/4-in. is 3/4-in., right? No. After waiting for a couple of weeks, I got the BSP adapter and tried a (gentle) fit into the NPT, 3/4-in. receptacle. No luck. I came to the Amazon site and discovered this adapter. As soon as it arrived, I screwed the BSP adapter into this adapter, and then onto my NPT fitting. All fits! And yes, I, too, am one of those people who bought a "great deal" Euro shower (from Hudson Reed). Now, I can install it.

When a client picked a shower valve and head online because it was attractive. I asked" what is the brand ?" She did not know, so when I show up I find a LightInTheBox Sprinkle shower package. I researched it and saw a number of reviews complaining about the threading, i.e. It wasn't NPT nor metric. I finally found out it was G1/2" thread. WTF is G thread? After calling local plumbing supply places and they had no idea either, I turned to trusty Google. British Gas Thread. Long story but I ordered this adapter and it works GREAT. If they weren't planning to sell the property shortly I would have advised they stay with a shower valve that we can find parts without mailing to Hong Kong.

When they came in, we tried them for size and were SO happy that they fit perfectly. Then came the true test with actual water running for the pipes. All six of the ones I ordered leaked. We had to dismantle everything and seal all the connections. So make sure you test the water flow and check for leaks before sealing up any walls!
