I did not - tried searching for threads. i did see something on Reddit about changing the resolution. Is that the main suggested fix and if so, why has a permanent fix not been added to game.
It can be a really specific problem which doesn’t come from the software but the build of the PC. Here, it’s the GPU, drivers and resolution not Overwatch.
so, is the resolution switch recommended solution? my card (GTX 2070) and drivers are up to date. Looking for permanent solution
Follow every step. I can guaranty it’s permanent nor working. I’m not an employee. If it doesn’t solve anything sent your DxDiag and MSInfo files. It will help the Customer Service to Troubleshoot it.
For this type of error we’d want to uninstall the graphics drivers using DDU then reinstall a fresh copy from the Nvidia , AMD , or Intel website depending on your GPU.
If there’s still any errors after that please grab a DxDiag so we can further investigate the problem. Here are the instructions:

Hello,
I had recently updated my graphic drivers to the latest versions and had switched my monitors from a HDMI connection to my graphics card (GTX 750 Ti) to onboard VGA due to some monitor issues, now when I try and launch Overwatch I get an error: no compatible graphics hardware was found (0xE0070160). Is there a possible fix? I have updated graphic drivers + other games on my PC are not encountering any problems.

If the drivers have been updated, try refreshing the desktop resolution:
Right-click on the desktop and choose Display Settings.
Expand Resolution, select a different setting, and click Save changes.
Undo the changes by developing the Resolution and selecting the Recommended settings.
Then in App Blizzard, go to Settings>Game settings and Reset game options for Overwatch.

No Compatible graphics hardware was found (0xE0070160) - SOLVED

After the windows updates and big Nvidia update I found myself on my GTX 1070 being unable to launch overwatch.
I did the following things to no avail:
Set PC resolution to lower than default of 1080 and tried launching OW
Set control panel to use GTX 1070 for all settings
I managed to fix this on my Windows 10 x64 PC with the following reinstall. In the GeForce Experience software go to the "Drivers" tab and the make sure you are up to date. If you were like me and it is still not working click the 3 little dots on the right hand side of the screen and select "Reinstall Driver". When prompted for "Express" or "Custom" install select "Custom" and then "Clean Installation". After it went through the motions I could then launch OW without a hitch.
Just posting this here incase anyone else has a similar issue ;-)

I keep getting this when I try to launch overwatch. Overwatch has worked on my PC before, my version is up to date, and I haven't changed anything about my setup before it stopped working.
I have tried changing the resolution, and that did not work.
Please help me, I just want to play overwatch again :(

I has this error happen to me before I replaced mine and yes, it is because it is no longer supported. I saved a heck load of money just to buy a 1070ti just for this game and honestly it's the best investment I've made.
