[🇯🇵] ザ・キング・オブ・ファイターズ アナザーデイ

Synopsis:

The four episodes are set in Southtown, the imaginary city well known to all fans as the stage of numerous death matches throughout the KOF series. Many past heroes of the saga make their appearance here, and the four plots intertwine to create a large-scale drama, that is also linked to the story of KOF Maximum Impact 2.

Main Characters:

Rock Howard

🇯🇵 ロック・ハワード

Character ID: 32989

About Character and Role:

is a video game character appearing in various games from SNK Playmore (formerly known as "SNK"). Rock makes his first appearance as a playable character in the fighting game Garou: Mark of the Wolves, the last chapter in the Fatal Fury series, as the new lead character from the series. Rock appears in the series as the son of Geese Howard, the main antagonist from the previous Fatal Fury games, who was killed by Terry Bogard. However, Terry started to take care of Rock to the point he teaches him to fight. Besides his appearance in Mark of the Wolves, Rock is featured in few games from The King of Fighters series as well as various crossovers from SNK. He is voiced by Eiji Takemoto (竹本 英史). In the English editions from KOF: Maximum Impact and its sequel he is voiced by Mike Lane. Rock has also been featured in manwhua adaptations from the games he has appeared as well as the anime The King of Fighters Another Day. Rock's character has received various responses from video games publications. His debut in Mark of the Wolves has been highly praised by reviewers although some of them considered his character to be too strong in comparison to the others. However, his development in the KOF: Maximum Impact series has been criticized due to his English voice actor and his new outfit. In spite of his father´s ways, Rock is a warm, friendly and compassionate young man, possessing Terry's strong sense of justice and heroism. Every day, Rock fights off his evil side and tries to get out of the shadow of his father. He is the middle term between Geese's excessive evil and Terry's excessive festive personality. Rock is also a very compassionate man, offering to help those in need such as helping Hotaru Futaba to find her older brother. He also tends to very uncomfortable and nervous around women, having been raised by men nearly all of his life. His move list is an amalgam of Terry and Geese. He possesses several of Geese's trademark moves such as the Wind Slice (烈風拳, Reppuken?) and the Double Wind Slice (ダブル疾風拳, Daburu Reppuken?), in which he throws various energy waves to the ground. He also has the Raging Storm (レイジングストーム, Reijingu Sutōmu?) that sends energy to an entire area, the Shinkunage throw, reversals, and the Deadly Rave (デッドリーレイブ, Deddorī Reibu?). Moves loaned from Terry include the Rising Tackle (ライジングタックル ?), a series of ascendent kicks, variants of various moves from Terry, including the Shine Knuckle (シャインナックル?), which is a DM version of Terry's Burning Knuckle. Also, his Crack Counter is a reversal that can be directed high or low akin to Geese, where upon succeeding, Rock slams an opponent with a kick that resembles Terry's Crack Shoot. In comparison with his father, Rock still lacks the control over his "evil blood", which boils from time to time hurting him after ending a combat with the Raging Storm and the Deadly Rave. Thus, most of moves taken from his father take him more time for recovering or are less powerful. However, the precedent of his lineage states that Rock has not reached the top of his game yet.

Iori Yagami

🇯🇵 八神 庵

Character ID: 10411

About Character and Role:

Since the KOF '95 project began with the concept of introducing Iori as Kyo's rival, he became known as a character who was a member of a rival school of martial arts that had a connection to the Ancient Arts of the Kusanagi. He was also given the ability to use a different color of flames other than Kyo's (red flames), along with various other characteristics. When you think of Iori Yagami, his intense personality most likely comes to mind. His moves are unique, and his singular choice of hairstyle, wardrobe, and manner of speaking was certainly a personality that broke the mold for characters in fighting games at that time. During the initial location tests to determine the popularity of the game, Iori was the character who stood out most. His hair and his lines to provoke his opponents ("You think I'm scary, do you?") excited his fans to no end. (Source: kofaniv.snkplaymore.co.jp)

But he was eventually caught by NESTS, who used his DNA to create various "clones." Kyo eventually returned to the tournament and his friends. After Nests was defeated, Ash Crimson comes in hoping to steal the powers of the Three Sacred Treasure Team who are Kyo, Iori, and Chizuru. However 2 of Kyo's teammates have their powers stolen leaving Kyo the last remain. On a side note, Saisyu is Kyo's father and Yuki is Kyo's girlfriend.

Ash Crimson

🇯🇵 アッシュ・クリムゾン

Character ID: 13388

About Character and Role:

Ash is a clever trickster and serves as an anti-villain as well as an anti-hero in the series. He is cunning and manipulative, often condescending friend or foe to his whim, and has ambiguous morals in his actions. He often gains his teammates through promises that he can fulfill, though he rarely specifies the means of granting them. One case in particular would be his teammates, Oswald and Shen Woo, as he pits them against one another to get their desires. Despite being seemingly frail by appearance, Ash is powerful as he was able to defeat Iori whilst in his Riot of Blood state seemingly with ease.

Ash is a cunning, self righteous, and flamboyant individual. Confident in his own powers, he doesn't take things too seriously and considers things that are of no interest bothersome. Even when faced with serious situations, he is calm and somewhat blasé.

He isn't one who considers working with others, but instead uses others to achieve his goals. He tends to flaunt the superiority of his halfhearted effort and speaks in a playful and condescending manner, which often irritates the characters he is speaking to.

He views Elisabeth as his older sister figure, and notes that she is "too serious". He feels that Duo Lon and Shen Woo are his good friends, although he appeared to them with mysterious intentions. He also has a habit of calling people pet names such as "Betty" for Elisabeth, and "Ozzy" for Oswald.

His personality seems to slightly change when actively using the power of the Yasakani jewel. Usually calm and composed, when using his Fructidor move, Ash will laugh maniacally while making his opponent burn with the purple flames of the Yasakani. This behavior is similar to Iori, and it may be interpreted as Orochi's taint affecting his mind.

Prior to the KOF XIII tournament, Ash openly joins forces with Those from the Past and works for their master. During the tournament finals, his true motives are revealed: his previous actions were done to earn Saiki's trust and to gain enough power to rob Saiki's soul. He wants to end their bloodline. Ash carries out his true plan when Saiki finally lowers his guard, but Saiki's essence overwhelms him.

After being defeated again by the winning team, Ash regains control of his body. Saiki insists that Ash enter the Time Gate, which will allow them to return to a previous era and begin their entire plan over again. Since Ash likes the current world, he allows the gate to close. His inaction erases both him and Saiki from time. Ash has a few moments to apologize to Elisabeth before disappearing. He leaves the stolen sacred treasures behind for Iori and Chizuru to reclaim.

XIV Arc: Ash Crimson's act of erasing Saiki (and consequentially, his own self) from existence by orchestrating a temporal paradox (by trapping Saiki in the present time) sets up the events in the game, and resulted in the appearance of the entity known as Verse.

After Verse's defeat, Ash's soul is released and is found by Kukri and Elisabeth on Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine. It is then highly implied, if not outright confirmed, that Ash is alive again
