If one were to distill . . . Ming Pang's insights . . .into their purest essence, it might be this:The dynamic spiritualization of matter, and conversely, the dynamic materialization of spirit, effected through the conscious dilation of the human energy field unto the circumambient cosmic force-field within which it exists, re-establishing the heightened interchange of primordial unconditioned energy with conditioned human energy. This comes eerily close to a palpable expression of Einstein's revelation of the reversibility of matter and energy. . . . . .(The chi-field) exists as a self-sustained field of intelligent energy which, having complete and innate access to the organic information of all conditions and beings within that field, can spontaneously and dynamically manifest in a restorative, healing 'wholing' manner without the express conscious direction of any particular individual associated with it, but rather by the synergy of the whole, just as, by force of gravity, floodwaters spontaneously seek to fill empty riverbeds. . . .

By imaginal exercise - super sensory concentration - the primal division between spirit and substance may be mended, and mankind and the universe restored to wholeness. . . .In so doing, the unbearable loneliness of human existence opens out upon the headwaters of the immutable aloneness of universal consciousness . . . 2.From introduction by Xiaguang Jin: I was extremely thin, weak and pale of face, and at a height of 5 feet, 7 inches weighed just over 85 pounds. I could only take liquid meals . . .I was too weak to get up . . . I was finally forced to give up writing my doctoral dissertation and I turned first to Western medicine; the bad news from the doctors . . .was that this disease was hard to cure . . .and might develop into stomach cancer. . . One Friday afternoon, I noticed the posting of a free group healing activity given by the Association of Zhineng Qigong Science. . ., , , . . .I heard a man's deep voice . . . ". . . it is now the time to change your fate and to bring a bright future and destiny to yourself . . . ."

I felt warm throughout my whole body, and a feeling of hope and gratitude arose from the depths of my heart. I was fascinated by that loving voice, and listened with rapt attention. Suddenly, I saw a beam of red light within my head, and felt an unbearable pain in my stomach; I nearly fell down, and was helped up by a lady standing beside me. She was frightened by my pale, sweating face and two student practitioners . . .immediately emitted chi into my stomach. . ..I was treated for the second time and I felt much better. . . . My stomachaches vanished almost unconsciously, and I could sleep well. One month later, I resumed my work on my doctoral dissertation and obtained my doctoral degree in December 1995. 3.From Book II The Science of Zhineng Qigong, by Professor Ming Pang): Through the practice of Zhineng Qigong, the weak become strong, the sick become healthy, and the old become young again. Millions of practitioners have obtained these benefits, and many modern medical experiments have also proven this.

Practicing Zhineng Qigong can balance yin and yang, adjust and promote the circulation of chi and blood, clear and open the main and collateral chi channels, and cultivate the true chi, so that the quality of human life can be improved and enhanced. Zhineng Qigong is a chigong of the open type. The practice procedure here is just the opposite of that of traditional chigongs. From the start, the internal physical chi is fused with the external chi of the natural world. The individual practitioner is unified with the greater environment, and forms an entirety with it. The powers of the man-nature-entirety and the self-others-unity are fully exploited for the purpose of attaining related accomplishment. Chi passes through the body from the outside to the inside. The aim is to cause chi to flow transversely, penetrating across the channels instead of moving along specific channels. In this way, both the main and collateral channels are linked together and unified, chi fills the whole body, and man finally becomes one with nature. . . .

Zhineng Qigong practice can cause the heart to function better, improve the macro- and micro-circulation of the blood, and have an anti-aging effect upon the nervous system. Through Zhineng Qigong practice. . . the brain's pituitary body . . . can be appropriately adjusted, the metabolic level of adrenaline declines, the growth hormone diminishes, and the concentration of cholesterol in the blood may be reduced. There have also been further dramatic health benefits, such as the emergence of new teeth and the growth of new hair in the aged. . . . . .the secretion of sex hormones can be adjusted through chigong practice. . .the aging process of the persons in the chigong-group was obviously slower than that of those in the non-chigong group; there were also a small number of people who showed no signs of aging. . . . the normal life span for man is 125 to 175 years. . . .the goal of being healthy and living long can be attained. Zhineng Qigong practice. . .can also stimulate the emergence of infinite wisdom and power. . .. . ."reading with the ears", "seeing through the human body", "remote-vision", "remote- hearing", "remote mental-control", "mind-sensing" and telekinesis.

Through chigong practice, these abilities can be awakened and mastered by ordinary people. . . .the practitioner can develop the ability to treat others by the Chi -Transmission Method. . . . the concealed spirituality of Zhineng Qigong may providentially reveal itself in . . . unlocking the shackles of separatism and enforced enclosure in the world of duality.. . .launching (mankind) into an awakening which takes in the shimmering totality of existence - cosmic consciousness. He learnt Daoist taiji from a very young age and achieved high gongfu. He became a renowned practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, but gave this up to create a new qigong system that he thought would be of greater benefit worldwide.

He drew on traditional postures and movements but developed and integrated them into more complete and effective methods. He pioneered the use of the qi field and developed a full theory of the laws of the universe, including theories about human life activity and the human mind. Wei Qi Feng has dedicated his life to Zhineng Qigong since he learnt it in 1991 at the age of 17 (when it was known as Flying Crane Form). Some years ago he taught himself English so he could spread its benefits more widely. In 2010 he set up the Harmonious Big Family, joined by other high-level teachers. They run English-language teacher training courses and retreats in China and also teach internationally. Patricia Fraser discovered Zhineng Qigong in 1999. She has worked on a range of Zhineng Qigong texts, including several books. She holds an M.A. in Sociology.
