Dicecream Magazine🗿🔳Yinka Shonibare (born 1962) is a British-Nigerian artist living in the United Kingdom.Â
His work explores cultural identity, colonialism and post-colonialism within the contemporary context of globalisation.Â
A hallmark of his art is the brightly coloured Dutch wax fabric he uses. Because he has a physical disability that paralyses one side of his body, Shonibare uses assistants to make works under his direction.
Current exhibitions:
YINKA SHONIBARE MBE: WIND SCULPTURE (SG) I, March 7th 2018 - October 14th 2018Â at Doris C. Freedman Plaza, Central Park, New York.
