A recent reorganization will yield long term benefits, but near term disruption is palpable and demoralizing for some. Advice to Management Now that the reorganization has been deployed, make adjustments to accommodate special needs within the business. Second, reinforce and invest in the heart of the company - the technical practices. Finally, take care not to slip into the morass of some of the ultra-large engineering firm conglomerates who are businesses trying to practice engineering.

Rather, practice engineering and program management as a business. There is a subtle but important difference between the two, and the latter has a soul. Aug 2, 2016 Helpful (211) Pros Vision and mission, benefits, interesting projects, offices... Cons I66 Management is ridiculous. A PM who has absolutely no idea - he's not even an engineer - and a business manager who has been continuously described by the client as incompetent and useless. It weighs heavy on me to hear the client saying " is this really ch2m?" Advice to Management You need to act on this immediately. Assign top notch engineers to manage the project and quarantine the scammers in a remote area. The company reputation is not a joke. Mar 13, 2017 Helpful (9) I worked at CH2M (More than 10 years) Pros People and projects. Client focused but lack employee focus. Open campus and open to work life. Cons Lack of honesty at the top level. Upper manage is a good old boys and girls club. Top levels are way overpaid. CEO's quarterly reports are canned.

Questions don't come from the employees. They CEO's script writers prepare them. The community relies on everyone sharing – Add Anonymous Review Mar 15, 2017 I worked at CH2M full-time (More than 8 years) Pros CH2M has very good benefits Cons Lack of training available for admin level staff Mar 10, 2017 Helpful (9) I have been working at CH2M full-time (More than 10 years) Pros People. Team culture prior to reorg at the end of 2016 Cons Bumpy times ahead. The reorg has destroyed cohesive businesses, and is already resulting in a drain of top talent. The new model treats everyone as a commodity. Advice to Management Urgent course correction is needed before the people who are the core of the firm depart. The market is hot, and those who are good can easily find employment elsewhere, and will as long as they feel they are being treated like a commodity. Mar 10, 2017 I have been working at CH2M full-time (More than 10 years) Pros Great company culture. Employees given a lot of autonomy.

Cons Stingy on training. Mar 8, 2017 I worked at CH2M full-time (More than 10 years) Pros Work/life balance, internal education classes, motivational leaders, many opportunities to move upwards, great mentoring mentality Cons project burnout, the opportunity to move up for some career levels was nearly impossible without someone speaking up for you. Advice to Management Lower level staff is just as important as higher level staff. Feb 20, 2017 Helpful (21) I worked at CH2M full-time Pros None, Nothing to speak about Cons Treat people like coins or peanuts to be passed on. No respect, biased unprofessional Mar 12, 2017 Helpful (4) I worked at CH2M full-time (More than 5 years) Pros Benefits, coworker relationships are pretty good, safety equipment was top notch, safety program a plus, uniforms provided, break rooms were very nice Cons Promotions are rarely based on knowledge, performance, etc. if your not part of the clique, or family member good luck. Never seen so much nepotism in my decades of working Advice to Management More diversity.

Mar 14, 2017 Helpful (5) I worked at CH2M (More than 10 years) Pros Nice campus good location with the light rail in the back yard. Cons There are too many Cliques in play. The last round of layoffs was all around who you were friends were. All of the information had leaked out before the layoffs. Whatever good employees were left they are leaving on a daily basis. Advice to Management Way too much overpriced middle and upper management, I have never seen anything like it. The majority of the people the let go in 2016 did not impact the bottom line the way it could have. Then to raise the stock price in the middle of chaos is the cherry on the sundae. Terrible upper management in Human Resources, it just keeps getting worse. Good luck to all the upper management who takes the l ions share of whatever is left.
