We’d like to thank our community for providing questions to the latest ‘Ask me Anything’ session with our Tech Information Security Officer. For those who missed the chat, here’s a shortened written version of it.

What is the advantage of your Token Sale over others?

Some Token Sales out there, they are maybe scams, money grabs, while World Wi-Fi is a three-tier benefit system where everyone wins. The advertisers are reaching their audiences and they can do this by geo-targeting or several other features. Now, the router owners are people that we need. And they don’t need to buy a new router as they can use an existing one and get paid. So this is another sign that this is a good ecosystem. And when we look at the users, the users get free Wi-Fi.

How to avoid scam Token Sales?

If you are looking to get involved in investing a Token Sale, make sure you check its structure, make sure you see where the money is going, who is benefiting. If everyone benefits, that’s a good system, that’s something you might want to support.

Back to World Wi-Fi. How can you make sure that a guest user and a Wi-Fi provider won’t access each other’s data when connecting the same router?

When you create separate networks they are segmented, so the router’s main network and guest’s network, they work a little differently. With the home network, you can access other things like printer, file shares. And with the guest network, you can’t communicate with each other. That’s is called “client isolation”. You connect to the guest network you don’t have access to the admin on the router so it should be safe. Also, we’re adding extra security features.

How many router models World Wi-Fi can work with?

There are over dozen different wireless access point manufactures. We’re looking to be compatible with as many as we can. In particular, we have Mikro Tik, all models starting from RB951. Another one is Asus. We’re working with ASUS to create a custom firmware and Cisco, we have a software that is working at the moment.

What about guarantees for the advertisers? What if users skip their ads?

When a user connects to the hotspots they are going act like regular ones. You connect, it’ll bring you up to a page, you’ll see your add, and then you will not be able to proceed until you view that add

How many routers can I set up?

You’ll be able to set up unlimited routers, there’s no cap on it. The more routers you set up the more income you generate for yourself.

If you are an internet service provider or if you provide free wi-fi to anybody, a lot of businesses do supply free wi-fi, so why not make some money on it?
