The timber framed superstructure arrived this week for our Passive House in Buckinghamshire and was erected and made water-tight in 24hrs Leading the 4 man team on site, Mario the man who produced the shop drawings according to our production information drawings. He is assisted by the carpenter who led the manufacturing of the frame according to Mario's drawings. They are assisted by two skilled carpenters. Everything runs like clockwork. The Kaufmann team really close the knowledge gap. We've got to manufacture and build and value vocational expertise like this in the UK. The beautiful ribbed white spruce structural acoustic beams are installed in a matter of hours Delivery vehicle and assembly team from the road Simultaneously the team from Schiedel turned up to install the UK's first prefabricated Passive House chimney for a Passive House log burning stove. In fact this product was launched less than 6 months ago in Germany so this is one of the first installations anywhere.

The windows arrive on site next week from our usual window manufacturer after a record-breaking production time. This amazing feat of production and delivery was achieved after a late order was forced on us when we were let down by a manufacturer we were trying out for the first time. The other manufacturer announced at a very late stage that delivery would not be possible until the end of November, in spite of knowing that they were needed end of September. Two frantic weeks followed changing all the drawings to suit our normal manufacturer's frames and agreeing all details before production could start. The amazing speed of reaction and production illustrates the benefit of building strong relationships with excellent companies.
