Christmas is just round the corner which means the moment we've all been waiting for since January is finally here... decorating our homes with all the lights, foliage and figurines that we can possibly fit in. But you don't have to spend a fortune to make your home festive this year, with our cheap Christmas decorations guide from the likes of Argos, B&Q, Tesco, Homebase and Wilkos. There's also inspiration for your Christmas tree decor, whether your colour scheme this year is red, white, purple, plus where to get the tree itself from. Decorating the house can often be a minefield, so we created a guide to help you find the best seasonal offerings from all your favourite stores for less. Order your real Christmas tree from Homebase, the DIY store well-known for their home products and garden equipment. The retailer's real Christmas tree range comes in a variety of shapes, sizes and prices. The cheapest we've spotted online is this 1.5-2ft Living Blue Spruce tree for £10. We're big fans of the Living Norway Spruce, the traditional style Christmas tree whose pine smell will fill your house with the festive scent.

Unfortunately the real tree range cannot be reserved online and can only be purchased from store. Big retailer John Lewis does have a small amount of real trees available online, with its cheapest option being this "post me a Christmas tree" version for £26 although its a lot smaller than its counterparts, arriving in a flowerbox via post. Perfect for sending to friends and loved ones as a tree for their desk or small living space over the Christmas period, although you may want to visit a different store or invest in one of their larger options for your own centrepiece. Argos never disappoints when it comes to household goods, their current range of fake Christmas foliage includes "snow covered", "royal spruce", "white" and even "pencil". Try this 6ft green Nordic version for £37.49, which is a steal for its height and quality. Alternatively, if you're on a budget, you can pick up a 3ft version for just £3.99 or 5ft for £9.99. For just £25, this 1.5ft Christmas tree from M&S could be yours.

We're big fans of the the unique yet traditional decor! This so-called "pop-up" Christmas tree from Very is a more fashionable take on the traditional Christmas centrepiece. Currently reduced to £29.99 from £49.99, it also comes in black. They also have a range of other Christmas trees, ranging from the classic to the modern. B&Q's extensive pre-lit Christmas tree range is largely made up of two types of tree: bushy, authentic-looking trees that seem like they reach the ceiling, and modernist, minimalistic style trees that wouldn't look out of place in a Scandanavian house or art gallery. This modern Christmas tree from Habitat (pictured) certainly isn't traditional, but would make an excellent addition to the festive decor - in- or outdoors. Plus, it's now half price, retailing at £12.50. For a slightly cheaper option, theres a 3ft white Christmas tree for £5 (it also comes in pink!), or for a more classic coloured version, get the 2ft 6 inch one for £7. For just £5 you could get this 3ft pre-lit artificial tree, which comes in an array of different colours.

Christmas is the time to be bright and bold, and at £5 you could even use it as a second tree for the kitchen, hall or bedroom. Wherever you place it, it's sure to attract attention. A lovely pre-lit LED pine style tree, this £25 offering is the cheapest that Next stocks, but seems good quality for the price. Simple, classic and understated, this is the sophisticated Christmas tree that will delight all your guests. Have a stress-free Christmas Best cheap Christmas buys How many days left?! If you're looking for a more unique Christmas tree vibe this season, retro is back in. Colour your tree with as many exciting shapes as possible, such as these hanging mushroom decorations from Ikea.

For a cheaper novelty option, there's nothing better than a hanging mini woodland Santa from your tree, which you can get from B&M for just £1.99. Decorations aren't just decorations any more, they now come with gifts. If you're looking to splash the cash on a few festive treats, look no further than these offerings, which are worth every penny. Because if you can't eat your decorations at Christmas, when can you?
