Due to our rural location bus services are very limited with the nearest bus service being to Constantine village 3/4miles away which would require completing the journey by foot along narrow lanes.
Falmouth & Penryn radio taxis provide a service for both manual and electric wheelchair users. Taxis can be booked in advance on 01326 315194. Should it be easier it is possible to drop off and collect guests at the edge of our decking should anyone prefer not to travel over the gravel surface. The front door is a double opening patio door which opens inwards and has a clear width of 120cm and a small step of 6.5cm. Guide dogs and Hearing dogs are welcome. Our exterior frontage overlooking the nature has a wooden decking surface with picnic benches. There are foldable wooden seats and separate tables also to dine at if mobility range is reduced or if a wheelchair needs to be pulled alongside. Part of our decking is covered by pagoda marquee where comfortable sofas and dining table & chairs can be used.
Inside our restaurant the wooden floor is wheel chair friendly and height adjustable tables can be arranged to accommodate wheel chairs, pushchairs or walking aids. It is possible to move throughout the entire restaurant without the need to negotiate any steps. There is adequate space between tables to allow a wheelchair to be placed at any table. The clear height under the tables ranges from 67cm. The Waymarker is lit well by natural daylight but when cloudy or in the evenings we use a mixture of L.E.D light fittings & dimmed lighting from hanging lights in the ceiling. To illuminate the exterior there are wall mounted sodium & L.E.D floodlights providing good levels of light in the car park and the approach to the entrances. All facilities are on the ground floor and there is a specific wheelchair accessible toilet with a door clearance of 80 cm. Within the toilet there is plenty of clear space to the right of the WC when facing it. A vertical and horizontal grab rail is located to the left of the WC when facing it as well as foldable railing installed to the right of the WC which doesn’t impact on all guests.
A clearly marked red alarm cord can be pulled to alert the staff in an emergency. This sounds an audible and visual alarm both in the restaurant and inside the toilet. The wash hand basin is fitted with lever taps. The distance from the floor to the toilet seat is 450mm Our menus and wine list are available on our website by clicking “Our Food” to examine details of the current menus and drinks List. Large print copies are available on request at the time of dining; copies can also be made on blue paper to assist those people with difficulties reading black print on white paper. For those with impaired hearing, we take payment for meals at the table rather than at a busy, noisy cash desks Disability awareness forms part of our staff induction training and staff are encouraged to provide assistance to customers with differing mobility requirements, visual impairment or hearing difficulties. All staff will happily assist with making menu and wine choices if you wish. Special dietary needs can be catered for on request.
The Waymarker is happy to adapt any course to accommodate a specific request such as: gluten free, dairy free, diabetic alternative to puddings, all food intolerances, and vegetarian or pescatarian diners as all our meals are cooked to order. Anything is possible, if we know in advance. Our drinks list also contains choices for dietary alternatives such as gluten-free pilsner and soya milk for teas or coffees. Our kitchen uses ingredients that may contain the 14 notifiable allergens – cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soya beans, milk, nuts, celery, sesame, sulphites, lupin and molluscs. Our team are able to inform you if an allergen is found in any of our menu dishes. Wi Fi is freely available throughout the restaurant.
