words // Brandon Richard Rotterdam sneaker shop Woei marks their 5th Anniversary by collaborating with ASICS on a special make-up of the GEL-Lyte III. Inspired by the deer found in the region, the classic runner is decked out in various brown and off-white hues, symbolic of the animal's distinct fur markings. Other nature-inspired details include metal trail hooks, zig-zag stitching on the toebox and reflective 3M detailing. A run of 150 pairs will be released at Woei on June 23, with first 100 customers receiving a special package that includes a custom made shoebox and matching Tee. There will also be a wider European drop on June 30, with a global launch set for July 7.Der Rotterdamer Sneakerstore Woei feiert dieses Jahr seinen fünften Geburtstag und bringt aus diesem Grund, in Zusammenarbeit mit Asics, einen GEL Lyte III raus. Der auf Cervidae getaufte Asics GEL Lyte III ist… wie man eigentlich schon auf den erst Blick sehen kann… ein wenig Outdoor inspiriert. Ich finde es immer gut, wenn ein bisschen mehr gemacht wird, als einfach nur ein CW zu wählen.
Hier wurden z.B. die Standard eyelets gegen trail hooks gewechselt, hier und da 3M verwendet oder einfach mal ein zig-zag stitching auf der Toebox verwendet. Und nebenbei gefallen mir der CW und die Materialien auch ganz gut… mal was neues. Der Release des Cervidae GEL Lyte III findet schon nächste Woche Sa. (23.06) in Rotterdam bei Woei statt. Zum Release wird der Store ein bisschen outdoortauglich gemacht und für die ersten 100 Leute gibt es noch ein special pack, bestehend aus einem Shirt und einer customised Woei Schuhbox. Ich bin schon stark am überlegen, ob ich mich auf den Weg nach Rotterdam machen soll!?! Ich überlege es mir noch. Ne Woche darauf soll es nämlich einen Europarelease, bei den üblichen Händlern geben. So they don’t only sell amazing brands, the store in itself looks amazing too. Totally different then what you would normally find, so this is another one you should definitely visit.
