The Community Housing Group Limited You will learn all aspects of production of high quality PVC windows and doors, you will follow works details and manufacturer’s guidelines, whilst ensuring you keep waste materials to a minimum. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to understand and interpret written instructions and have basic maths and English skills. This apprenticeship requires you to apply through the employer's website. 7.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday 7.00am – 1.00pm Friday 30 minute break each day Total hours per week: 40.00 To ensure the PVC windows and doors are manufactured to the company’s high quality standards, and to ensure minimum wastage of materials. Ability to understand and interpret written instructions Ability to use measuring instruments Attention to detail to ensure correct dimensions of windows taken from the written instructions/works details Willingness to learn all aspects of the role




Ability to work to deadlines To follow the works details accurately when producing the windows/doors to ensure the manufacturers guidelines are adhered to. To load the saw with profile lengths Attach labels to cut profiles for each job Unload saw and place in correct slot in stillage Prepare profile for welding as per works details Reinforce doors and windows where required as per works details To weld the correct components of windows/doors as per works details Clean weld and excess material from windows/doors to ensure high quality finish Fix locking window/door mechanisms to window/door sashes and pair up sashes with outer frames as per works details Fabricate doors/windows to works details Prepare beading for windows/doors as required and fix to completed window/door Stack windows/doors for each order together in the racking ready for despatch. Cut and prepare ancillaries to compete orders as per despatch checklist.




Adhere to the Company’s health & safety guidelines, rules at all times. You will also be required to carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required of you. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate a good attention to detail. You will operate machinery and as a result we are unable to accept candidates under the age of 18. Candidates may have to complete an 8 week traineeship first. Ability to read and interpret written instructions to ensure correct dimensions of windows taken from the written instructions/works details. Good attention to detail. Basic Maths and English skills as functional skills training can be provided if required. The company will provide ongoing training even through the Apprenticeship so you will be able to progress yourself through the company.
