Those comfy chairs at Starbucks But if you read further into the thread, one manufacturer himself posts. He's talking about a Vista chair that isn't leather though. It seems he had a falling out with Starbucks:I have been reading these post for a while now. I am the original designer and manufacture of the "Vista" chair and yes the Blues Clue Thinking Chair as well. I manufactured this chair (and some sofas) for Starbucks about seven years ago. It was a wing chair done up in a burgundy and brown velvet. I have been in contact with Starbucks to see if they want me to sell them direct, even though I no longer make the chair for them. Mitchell Gold did take over after a series of other manufactures took a stab at them. I never sold the Vista to Crate, so whatever they say do not believe them. I must admit our chair has lasted longer than the rest. Even at the headquarters in Seattle, they still have them in the their Lobby. I had some trouble getting the fabric long ago and the head of purchasing blamed me and cut me off (not a nice thing to do for sure).

I feel it was a mistake on their part, but they were growing at such leaps and bounds during that period, everyone up at the home office was having a nervous breakdown. Lo and behold I fell victim to their caffeine induced rants. So be it, but I still see the influence of our chairs in their new locations around the world. We were the first company to supply Starbucks with "soft seating". The first store was in New York a number of years ago. What can I say, you just cannot keep up with a corporation whose sole goal is to corner the market on a certain commodity and eat all others alive (or should I say drink them up). Steve Galerkin, Gardena, California I'm sure newer and/or different chairs are made by other manufacturers. At the end of the thread, someone posts the address from a label they ripped off a chair. Ignore the arguing with the snob in the middle of the thread. 18,413 posts, read 24,946,009 times Originally Posted by Pikantari I think that is probably the companies objective.

Now, if I am the XYZ company, I have signed an exclusive with Starbucks to not manufacture the identical style of starbucks furniture, BUT, if you look at it intelligently, why wouldn't XYZ want to market super comfy, gotta have it couch in its' own line as that is what their business is, selling furniture. Starbucks certainly can insist they not sell the starbucks line of furniture but they don't own the rights to the manufacturing process for the super comfy gotta have it couch. Here is where the detective work comes in, If in fact you have the company that does supply them talk to the managers of those stores and get as much info from them as possible and then call the executive office (customer service may be helpful, maybe not) and say that you you know they don't sell the starbucks collection but what is the name of the closest model in their store

, you LOVE the super comfy gotta have it couch and nothing else will do. I had a bad experience with an well know inflatable mattress and needed a new mattress set and recalled that I had stayed in a hotel that had the most wonderful mattress and it too, was a exclusive design for ABC hotels, I contacted the manufacturer and asked what the nearest to the ABC hotel mattress was and they told me. It was for all intents and purposes identical except for the ticking and the label. I stayed at a hotel once and their mattress was the most comfortable mattress I had ever slept on. The place was a bit upscale, but not terribly so. I asked the manager what brand and style it was and he was not allowed to tell me. I stripped the bed and the tag said Exclusively Made for ABC hotels by xyz. You some time have to be very creative to get the info you want.
