Objectively this model isn't something that I would classify or ever represent as premium adult support, and certainly not appropriate for someone with a bad back. The bed will contour to your body, but not due to any advanced design. It simply lacks support. Having seen these beds in person I have a pretty good idea on the quality of construction and methods used, but I'm not writing to disparage the product. IKEA mattresses used to come from Poland, then some were made in Mexico (recalled due to not meeting USA Flame Resistant guidelines). IBC was contracted to make some products for IKEA - not sure where this one comes from, as it's not listed on the web site.
